I'm so glad it's finally the weekend. Apparently the little kid germs got to me in only the third week of school
I have been taking benadryl at night as well as Tylenol for my throat, and going to bed at 7pm every night this week. Teaching 5 year olds is HARD when you feel like crap! Then by Thursday I was in that horrible stage of a cold where your eyes water, you nose drains but is stuffy at the same time, and people look at you funny because your eyes are glassy. My kids kept asking me why I was crying. I'm still sneezing and sniffly but hopefully I can rest a lot this weekend and get better.
On top of being sick, half the state of Texas seems to be going up in flames and its stressing me out. One of the wildfires is about 12 miles from my house, and even though it's burning in the opposite direction of us, apparently there was a wind shift last night and we woke up to thick smoke in the neighborhood and it smelling like a campfire. I thought our subdivision was on fire! It scared the crap out of me. We are surrounded by (very dry) pine trees so that's always a worry for me. By noon the smoke had made it to my school (about 20 mile away) and the district cancelled recess due to the air quality. The fire near us has already burned 22,000 acres and 100 homes and another fire about 2 hours away burned 34,000 acres and nearly 2,000 homes...it's pretty devastating.
I've been trying to catch up on posts and see how all you ladies have been doing this week. I saw a thread about floods in the northwest and it's just crazy to me that people are getting TOO much rain in places and here we are in this horrible drought surrounded by wildfires.
This turned into a LONG post...oops! I hope everyone is doing well
