Say moooooo!

I was reading my 28 week ticker today (which I enter that week today, woohoo) and it said something about say moo because your baby's adrenal glands are producing hormones triggering your milk production. Well I would have to say that this has already started for me. On top of already producing colostrum, I am now having "let down" sensations (for those who have BTDT, you know what I'm talking about), and last week I actually leaked right through my shirt! WTH! I was shocked as was my husband. At this rate, milk production isn't going to be an issue for me.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Haha wow! You poor thing. Let down is such a weird feeling. I only weaned Luke 4 months ago, but Im having no discharge. Hopefully it lasts!

I'm w/ Angela. I started having the sensation a few weeks ago, but so far no wet spots.

I am starting to see some colostrum when I get out of the shower now though. I am pretty happy about it.

Can I ask how long ago you last nursed? It's been about 3 years for me.

Interesting. That is wild that you are already having let-down and such! I have been noticing colostrum has started for me the past couple of weeks.

For the past two months I could squeeze and get colostrum (sorry if TMI) and definitely have crusties and such frequently. I'm sure the leakage was also colostrum, as I seem to be producing an abundance. It's all yellowish/creamish. I last nursed well over 2 years ago. My DS self-weaned at 10 1/2 months and he is just over 3 now. I definitely wasn't producing this much colostrum this early in the pregnancy, and definitely no let down feelings, although even if I was having them then, I'm sure I didn't know what they were haha.

I definitely have the colostrum, but it's not to the point where it's leaking thank God!

I wondered what that stuff was!! I get a little tiny bit of it occasionally.

I never produce any milk before birth, and I've never had low milk supply either after birth. Both my kids have been exclusively breastfed with no problems at all.

(Just mentioning this for the sake of the FTMs, in case any are worrying that no milk before birth is a cause for concern). Biggrin

I didn't get any milk with Brynna before she was born either. Thus far I've only had the crusties and a few times when my breasts would get this tingling sensation all over. I am guess maybe that's what you mean by the let down sensaton?

THis is what I am feeling too! I had crusties in the 1st tri but now they are gone but the tingles are there.

Ha, good point Nicole. I was thinking more along the lines that what everyone else is experiencing is normal and what I'm experiencing isn't.

I've been getting the crusties since the beginning of 2nd tri, and toward the end I was getting real colostrum leaking out. Let down for me starts on the outside of the bbs and is one long tingly sensation to the nipple
