Say What!?!

One of the nurses I seldom work with happened to be scheduled today. She looks at me and points to my stomach and says "Do we have a little something going on in there?" I said yes. She says "I figured you did but I was a little afraid to ask because I didn't know if you were pregnant or just fat." WTF! Two other staff members turned and looked at her and one said "If you can't tell that's a pregnant belly and not just fat there is something wrong with you." This is why I love some of my co-workers and could punch a select few

I hope she got the hint and felt like a jerk. Even if it was funny - its a stupid thing to say to ANY women.

She wasn't saying it to be funny. She was being honest. I guess that's what shocked me the most. What if I had just gotten fat? No reason for her to throw the fat part in at all other then being a butthead. I should have said "Well pregnant or not I am still skinnier than you."

Don't you hate how you always come up with the best lines AFTER the fact?! I always think of all the things I could have said in a certain moment, but when it's happening it catches you off guard because it's hard to believe the crap that actually comes out of people's mouths!
