School starts tomorrow!

I just had to come and post about how flippin' excitied I am about school starting tomorrow! My eldest son will be in 3rd grade and my youngest son will be in 1st! I'm so thankful for him making it to 1st grade as his kindergarden class was only 2 1/2 hours long, so I had to go back and fourth to their school three times a day last year! Now they both go the full day and it will just be my princess and I at home (until this LO arrives lol!) and it will be such a nice break! I love my boys dearly but they do drive me up the wall, and have all summer long! Now it's time for them to do that to their teachers lol! Anyway, anyone else have their babies starting school tomorrow?

My ds started school on the 15th. School started here for everyone else on the 10th!
He is in preschool, but it lasts from 8:15-1:45, so 5.5 hours. I am not thrilled though lol. He loves it and I feel lost with him gone. Dd walks around looking for him all day too.

Angie - I've been meaning to tell you that you have the cutest kids! I love all the cute pics you post on FB Smile

School started here (Houston area) last Monday, on the 22nd. Only 173 school days left til summer! Haha. I have 22 new kiddos and they had a pretty great first week. I was exhausted but impressed at how well they did. I think this year is going to be really good Smile

My step-son started school on the 19th. I do enjoy it just being me and my girl during the days I don't work. I am eating up the quality time we have together because I know it'll be alot harder once Ryan gets here.

School's been in session for a week now, but DS1 is still too young... but we run into the schoolkids at the public library, which does double-duty as the school library. (OK, it's really more of a school library than a public library...) DS1 loves watching to see what the big kids do, and the big kids seem to enjoy letting themselves be distracted by babies more than finding books to read.

My DD starts Kindergarten on Thursday! Eeek, mixed feelings about that. She is our oldest so it's a little hard to let go. But she is excited and I have no doubt she will love it and do great. I will probably feel a little lost with it being just me and DS at home during the afternoons. DD will still be home in the mornings. Although I know I'll be busy and exhausted once the baby arrives, but for the next few months it'll be .... odd.

No way, I thought we were the only ones on the planet with 2.5 hour Kindergarten!!!

My son starts Kindergarten after labor day & it's going to be a challenge getting him to & from and then trying to work during the whole 2.5 hours I get free! We could have put him in full-day but it costs $375/month (yes, for PUBLIC education) which is fine, but then we found out they scholarship 1/2 the class, meaning we work our butts off to pay for someone else's kid to go to school for free. No thanks! Until I'm on maternity leave, it's going to be a juggle!

On a lighter note, I am a little sad my baby is going to school Sad

My DS isn't in school yet, but school started here 2 weeks ago! I don't know how mom's do it with kids off during the summer... it's not like work ends during the summer too! I'm sure it is hard to juggle things during that time.

DS started Pre-K today - his last year before kindergarten  He goes Mon & Wed from 9-12. He loves it, he has been going for the past 3 years to the same preschool so he def. knows the drill. I am glad he is back in school, I got so many errands done this morning! hee hee

Oh my gosh today at home with just Liberty was heaven!! It's amazing how quiet it is around the house without my rowdy boys there! I thought I might cry this morning when they walked in to class for the first time, but no tears as the whole time I was thinking, "Finally, a little bit of a break!" It sounds so terrible, but it's been a rough summer lol!

Isn't that totally ridiculous?!?! You might as well just keep them home, since legally kids don't have to even go to kindergarden lol! Ours is the same way, I don't know when these hours changed cause I know I went to full day kindergarden! It's lazyness I tell you!!

So school started for me today, too, (I teach middle school) and I have NO IDEA how I'm going to keep on going day after day. I recognize that I am not the first pregnant woman in the history of the universe but I am exhausted beyond belief and honestly can't imagine making it through the week. My last week of school with the kiddos in the spring fell during my 12th week of pregnancy. It sucked a LOT since I was barfing and losing weight like crazy, but at least I knew the end date and was able to just miss one day of school due to the barfs, the rest I just hid from the kids by stepping outside a lot. Now I have a HUGELY extended commute and no end date in sight. I'm kind of freaking out.
