Sleep!?

Is anyone still getting a reasonable amount of sleep? It's gotten to the point where I can only sleep in one position. I can't sleep on my stomach or back...and just recently, baby won't let me sleep on my right side. She is lying sideways and every time I try to switch from my left side to my right side, she starts furiously kicking me. I feel like a complete zombie this morning!

Last night I got two blocks of three hours, so I'm feeling relatively great this morning. The previous two nights were the most miserable nights of my life. This is officially as miserable as the first trimester now and it's only getting worse. Sad

I've been losing sleep lately because I am getting so HUNGRY in the middle of the night, my growling stomach wakes me up! At least 2x a night now! It is truly obnoxious. Way worse than getting up to pee. I wish I could get it to calm down, but I don't know how! I have plenty of snacks before bedtime! I don't get it!

I've pretty much been sleeping straight through the night unless DS cries for us (he is in a new room in a new bed now). I'm enjoying these last few nights of rest before the uncomfortable sleep starts.

Yeah, mine go through obvious growth spurts like this, too. And you're right, there's no amount of evening and morning food that cures it! Usually I just eat a bowl or two of cereal but there have been times I have eaten a quarter of a jar of peanut butter with a protein bar and a few glasses of milk. It can be pretty disgusting...

Ha, I figured this was a growth spurt so maybe it will calm down. i hate to actually eat something in the middle of the night, so I have an instant breakfast. That is only lasting me a few hours, so maybe I need to actually make and eat something. I just don't want to wake myself up too much as then I will have a harder time getting back to sleep. Ah, it's a double-edged sword.

Yeah, I just give in to the hunger monster. Most nights are two, three, or four separate sleeping sessions. I feel like once I just give in to the starvation and eat real food (as opposed to just like a glass of milk or something) then I can get another good solid chunk of sleep.

Good point. I'll give into the hunger monster tonight and hopefully that will help! Hopefully this growth spurt will be over in a couple days!

I'm sorry you're not sleeping well, Carrie. I know it's so frustrating!! I have bad nights occasionally (Sat. night was one of those) but for the most part, I wake up 1-2x to pee and that's it. I hate it when I start thinking about stuff, though, and I can't go back to sleep for and hour or so afterwards. But I have been so exhausted lately that that hasn't been an issue.

That was my issue on Friday night. I had work stuff on my mind and was tossing and turning from 3:30 on. Then Saturday night I slept like a log, but last night the baby just wasn't having it and I couldn't get comfortable. I suppose it's not the last of those nights, so I'd better get used to it. LOL.

I'm sleeping good right now *knock on wood* I go through phases where I wake up early but I just go into work at the crack of dawn to make up hours I lose for my dr. appts. Usually I have 1 or 2 of those a week and the other days are fine.

My problems are positioning. I'm a stomach sleeper, and I haven't been able to do that since around 5 months. I can't lay on my back because it causes way too much pain, so that leaves me to my sides. I have to have my body pillow to be comfortable at all, and I have to constantly switch sides during the night or that side starts getting numb. And then that's a battle because switching from one side to another is extremely painful! Ugghhh come out already Trystan (OK not really, but you all know what I mean lol)!!!

I don't sleep well most nights. No position is comfortable really. I wake up multiple times and most often I am up for at least an hour when I do wake. I think I get about 2 hours of sleep at a time and then I wake up. It's very frustrating. I have tried going to bed early but nothing helps. Maybe it's just my subconscience getting ready for Ryan's arrival....lol

No sleep here Sad :( my left side is the most comfortable (which isn't saying much) but baby tends to hang out with her feet to my left, so if I lie on my side it encourages her to kick, squirm, and especially jam her feet into my ribs...no idea why she likes to do that, but it's impossible to fall asleep with all that!! I can't sleep on my back, I end up short of breath and DH wakes me because he says I sound like I'm breathing very weird  Finally if I DO fall asleep, I'm up every two or three hours to pee and with intense thirst. And I will wake up at least once with terrible heartburn after my pre-bedtime Tums wear off, and that will keep me up for sbout half an hour before more Tums and milk get it mostly under control again. I am a total useless zombie at work. Sad
