So I talked to our doc about solids at the 4 months appt the other day. He says the iron in breastmilk starts to decrease around 6 months so that's a good time for us to make sure we have started some iron-fortified foods. So it's up to us anytime now when the babies seem ready. I know my son will be ready first. Eee! Now it seems soon!!
So I gave T some of the banana flavored Gerber rice cereal mixed with some water this morning, and he loved it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed this time, as he loved the other cereal at the beginning the last time too, then hated it after about a week! DH is going to give him some peas tonight, so we'll see how he likes those! His pedi said it's ok to feed him solids 2-4 times a day now.
I have given Vivian a little bit of cereal 3 times now. She loves it, and gobbles it all up. She does really well w/the spoon/swallowing, too. I've only been making about 1T but she eats it all. I'll wait a few weeks before introducing some veggies.
**lurker** I just wanted to say that i LOVE my baby bullet. I bought it used from a neighbor and i use it ALL THE TIME....for myself!! I make fruit smoothies in it...lol. O didn't really get into purees - she perfers to just feed herself finger foods - we did more of the BLW, but she LOVES nursing still. so i stopped pureeing and now just steam foods for her (carrots, beans, peas, pears, apples)
