Speaking of Amazon Mom

and finding good deals on dipes, you can get these for .12 cents each! I have never seen a price this low before. Thought I would share. This is for size 1's.

I've gotten them on Amazon for as low as .9 a diaper. That's Huggies and Luvs. I haven't tried the FP diapers before. Seriously, the deals are amazing!! Sometimes they put them on special, plus pair that with the 30% off deal, AND on top of that there's often an ecoupon you can clip for $1 or $2 off a certain brand of diapers (if there's 1 available you'll see it at the same page where you add that item to your cart). Seriously, never buying diapers in the store ever again. You can't beat free shipping and all of those deals!

I wish we could use Amazon Mom in Canada! Although, we are going to use cloth diapers. But it would be nine to take advantage of other good deals!!

Hilary, we use cloth too (LOVE IT!) but always have disposables on hand. I use them at night, in the diaper bag, when I'm lazy, etc.

I wanted to add this link. They break down some deals for you! http://thethriftycouple.com/category/home-life/family/baby/

:lurk:

For those that use Amazon Mom, I just had a quick question - I read somewhere that the benefits expire after 12 months...is that true? If so I guess I wouldn't sign up until right before the baby is born. If not then I'd sign up now!

The free shipping lasts I think only 3 months. BUT they keep extending it by another month every time you spend $25 in one go. So essentially it just keeps right on extending if you actually use it.

This. We have been using it for the longest time and as long as you spend the $25 a month in the baby store you continue to get it. There is some line in there about them having the right to stop it or extend it at any time so I think that's how you get around the 12 month thing...they are just extending it. Why wouldn't they? They are guaranteed $25/month at least.

As soon as I found out I was pg we had potty trained DS. So we kept the subscribe and save set up for diapers and just continued buying them for this LO - in much smaller sizes of course.

Thanks. I've signed up already but keep forgetting about it. I want to stock up on diapers now before LO gets here.

Yep, it seems they extend my subscription benefits even if I don't buy off amazon mom and just the general website. I'm a good customer, though, so it has never run out.

You can get wipes for .02 a wipe too! I'm stocking up on any good deals I find now.

That is a good deal... I'm strictly a Huggies Supreme mom though! If they had a sale on those that would be awesome!

I am loving my prime shipping. I have gotten so many birthday gifts, regular things, etc. with free shipping it has saved us over $30 probably in the past 3 months. I didn't want my free shipping to go away so I started ordering a box of pampers. Heck, I know I will use them! I priced amazon mom vs. Sam's club and it is cheaper for diapers but not wipes in my area. I don't use name brand wipes though so that is why its cheaper at Sam's.

Okay so I joined and I only had a few minutes to browse but I was a little overwhelmed. I feel kind stupid for saying that, but I'm a FTM and I'm not sure what to buy or start "stocking up" on....like what brand? What size should I get the most of? Do I buy the small packs or get the big boxes? And the same for wipes...what kind? Size? Help!

My suggestion is not to buy that stuff for yourself (as a FTM). People will get you that stuff for showers and you can figure out what works best for you. Like personally, we prefer Pampers brand only. But I have friends that can use anything and they work - but other brands leaked or cause D a rash. So just hold off on buying that stuff until you have to and you know what you want.

Katie ~ I agree w/ Jenn. You should wait to stock up. Every baby is different & not all things work for each baby the same.

Some people swear this brand works & that one leaks. This diaper cream is better than that, etc. You will figure out what works & then spend the next 2+ years buying it so definitely no rush to start.

And just an aside, you don't need a bunch of newborn sized dipes. They will outgrow those in a week! You'll need lots of 1's to start, as I seem to recall going thru 20-25 dipes a day, and then 2's and 3's... We stayed the longest in 2's I think. I have found I only like the pampers swaddlers when they are little, then I prefer huggies. But I don't like the cheap store brands (can anyone say plastic bag) and I don't like Luvs (they are too scented for my preference).

So true - everyone swears their preferred brand works best - but its all personal preference.

Oh - but I do have THE BEST diaper cream ever if you are interested - LOL!

LOL, what kind of diaper cream is it? My SIL has been using this stuff that's like $11.00 a bottle (I can't remember the name off the top of my head) and swears it's the best.

I will have to remember this when everyone is telling me what I "should" use. Smile

I was thinking that I'd probably use 1's more than anything but for sure. I know that they seem to go through more diapers at the beginning. Thanks for the advice Smile

Also it's good to try different brands in the beginning b/c your LO may have a sensitivity to certain brands. DS was okay w/Pampers in the beginning (that is what they put on him in the hospital b/c it seems that is all our hospital uses) but a few weeks later I started using a package of Luvs that I had (I was told Luvs and Pampers are made by the same company...Luvs=old Pampers technology, that's why they are cheaper :dontknow:) and Luvs made him break out in a rash...then from then on when I would try Pampers they made him break out too. Huggies were fine, so that is what we mainly used from then on. Just a thought.

And on the sizes - I have to give my $.02 Smile

Everyone told me not to bother with anything NB - clothes or diapers. However, my tiny Wink 8lb3oz brute was in NB clothes and diapers for a good while. We probably used 2-3 boxes of NB. So you really just never know ahead of time. I had no idea clothes came smaller than 0-3 moths and the outfit we took to the hospital in that size swallowed him up. Dh had to run home for a NB sleeper someone gave us.
