Started working on the nursery :)

And boy did that wear me out! Who knew painting a room would be so much work?
It's not the actual painting that's tiring, it's the taping of the baseboards, around the doors and around the window. And, since there are 10 ft ceilings in the room, my husband will have to help me with that high stuff.

That being said, I am still super excited to finally have started on it. In my head it looks good, so i hope it actually turns out alright. I have been taking pictures along the way, but I think I'm going to wait until at least the walls are finished, and all the Dr. Seuss characters are painted on Smile

Anyone else started on baby's room?

Yay! I know you were anxious to get that started. Yes, the taping is the worst part, I hate that part! No baby room doings here for us yet... still not sure where we're actually gonna put the child. haha!

I can't WAIT to start! We are closing on our house tomorrow and will be moving in by the end of the month. My mom has already volunteered to start doing some painting on her days off while I am at work. I would love to start with the baby room, but may suggest we wait until cooler weather to do so, since the room is on the second floor and it's been hot here.

How exciting!! Make sure you take a before picture to show us, too!

Last Friday we moved our son into his new room since the baby will take his room. It's almost empty. Pretty much all of his stuff is out, the dresser is empty, just a few random things of his that I need to find places for in his new room, and some baby stuff in the closet which we'll need again anyways. But I do need to get in there and clean.

I'm not sure if we'll paint yet. We have gender-neutral bedding so that all will work, I'm just kind of sick of the current wall color so may change that!

Aww yay you are on the ball! What color are you painting the walls?

We haven't started yet, but as soon as we find out the gender the walls are being painted the next day. I have picked out paint swatches for if the baby is a boy but still need to choose for if it's a girl. Hopefully I'll get some cards this weekend and make a decision. I want to get it done as soon as possible to allow Nicholas maximum time to adjust to his new big boy room before the baby comes.

I was totally set on purple walls for a girl, since that's my favorite color, but since I am doing Seuss, I thought it would be kinda weird to match the Seuss characters to lavender walls. So, the walls are light green and light blue. The green is on the bottom half and looks like grass and hills, and the blue is the sky. The main focus wall will have the hot air balloon and say "Oh, the places you'll go!". I'm doing the letters and accents in purple so it will still be girly Smile

How cute! I'll have to take a picture of the dresser my Mom made for my sister when she was pregnant with my niece. She did her room in Dr. Seuss and it was so cute. The dresser is absolutely adorable.

Awww, the Dr. Suess theme sounds super cute! I haven't started on baby's room, as his room is currently DH's "mancave" lol! I'l not too worried about it for now anyway, as he'll be in his bassinet at my side in my room for the first three months anyway. Hopefully DH can get all of his crap out of Trystan's room by then!

I want to see too!

I have a gender neutral nursery right now but after baby it will be the guest room so I want to go more neutral and add gender specific accents/decor once the babys here.
