They KNOW!

Ok, I no longer think this is the same paranoia I've had where everyone seems to be talking about babies a lot. Tonight coworkers were staring at me when I leaned forward at the table to eat and my pants were shoved below my belly with some bare side-midriff as my shirt popped up a bit. I got some weird comments from parents at tonight's graduation, too. Instead of, "Have a great summer!" they said things like, "I hope you have a healthy summer. Really, a very healthy summer." Uh ... ok. I don't think people normally say these things.

Doppler appointment is Saturday, appointments to talk to the bosses are on Monday. Must hide this for just ONE more work day!!!

Good luck! It's all too obvious for me so there was no point in hiding it anymore. Even my patients have started asking me. LOL

I kept hearing how you don't start showing with the first baby until you're like 5 months along and so many people keep it all a secret until the end of the first trimester ... but these people must not work with all 30-year-old women who seemingly endlessly take turns on maternity leave and who notice every little thing! Smile

One more day with regular pants and a belt - yes, I can do this. Then it's elastic pants all the way! And of course this afternoon we have WINE TASTING at work!! How is that even normal?

HAHAHA you poor thing! Good luck holding out one more day! I told my boss the day I knew. I just couldn't hold it in. I told everyone right away haha. I am not good at keeping secrets.

Wine tasting may make it a little more difficult. LOL Maybe you can pull the I don't drink alcohol card but then again they may know better.

Lol it just all depends on your body type as to when you'll show, and no two women or pregnancies are alike! This being my fourth baby, I couldn't hide it if someone paid me to! I've been showing for a month! Do you mind if I ask why you're waiting to tell people? Have you had a history of m/c?

Lucky! I gave up regular pants two weeks ago!

And as for the wine tasting, take a small glass of red, pour half of it down the drain in the restroom and pretend to sip.....

It sounds like she may teach. If I told people, my kids would find out and then FLIP OUT. They seem to think you are never coming back to work. And at the end of the school year, it is just not worth the hassle!

Precisely. No history of anything but forgetting a condom ONCE 10 weeks ago and winding up pregnant! Telling at the end of the school year when everyone is already freaking out just seemed so ridiculously not worth it and the timing worked out that the end of the school year = 12 weeks pregnant, so ... I just waited.

Loads of teachers were exhausted and not feeling the wine tasting this afternoon so that was good for me, though one boss was like, "LAST DAY! GRAB A GLASS OF WINE!!!" I had to do some extra hiding today when I ended up throwing up on campus a few times. I also found out another colleague is just a few days ahead of me in her second pregnancy and I never even noticed. So maybe they don't know. We'll see Monday! Smile

Oh yeah and heart beat appointment tomorrow!!!

I feel you triplespiral. I am also a teacher and it was just easier not to tell anyone with the end of the school year and assigning of the schedule for next year. It was hard though bc I felt so bad and had to sit down which I don't do usually while teaching they asked me if I was ok. First baby I didn't show until almost five months but you can tell now thank goodness it is summer break

Oh no! Hopefully you can make it through the days without too much nausea or anything giving it away. Good luck in the home stretch -- I know it's always the most stressful!

Yes, SO HAPPY it's summer. I still have some in-service days and grading to complete though. I was definitely waning in energy for a while there but just did lots of group projects so it worked out well for me. I did one day that had some writing at the board and note-taking during maybe my 8th week and I thought I was going to pass out! I was also glad to have such well behaved kids that it wasn't a big deal when i stepped outside the classroom for a second to "look for something" or "get a drink of water" every time I had to barf!

Word's out at work! Everyone was seriously shocked. That means they all thought I was getting super fat! Haha! Well, what a relief that is over with. Smile

Yes, seriously SO relieved. I'm in maternity pants and not carrying a pile of grading in front of my belly!
