okay so i just have to ask!!!

I have never heard anyone ever mention this, but I can't be the only one. I remember the horrible feeling when Luke finally dropped into my pelvis. It felt like there was a 20 pound bowling ball sitting in the end of my colon. IT FEELS AWFUL. Nick is now dropping too... and I can tell because that awful feeling is back. I feel like I have to move my bowels all the time, but its just his head digging into my colon. ugh its so awful!!! And if I try to bend over it just drives his head in harder. please tell me im not the only one????? I feel sooooo constipated. but I know its just the baby's head

I feel like this too. However, constipation is one of my main pregnancy symptoms and I suffer from it throughout most of the pregnancy. But yes that feeling of something pushing on your rectum all the time is very uncomfortable. You can't really sit or stand. You sit and you feel like you're on their head. You stand and gravity takes effects and pushes them down. It scares me to actually have to go to the bathroom because I'm afraid to push and then he will fall out....lol

Well, now you've got me discouraged because I haven't felt this yet, so maybe that means she hasn't dropped at all yet. Sad I really need some progress here, so the big, bad OB doesn't try to induce me.

I wanted to add that w/both my boys I never felt any different when they dropped. docs told me that is the only way I knew they did.

I wouldn't worry too much about it Carrie. The baby may have dropped but is just in a different position so that it's not pushing on your bowels.

My LO dropped yesterday but I'm running to the bathroom every 5 minutes instead of having constipation.

When I was in labor I had that colon feeling and was screaming and in tears. I hope it passes for you soon, it's miserable.

Jenn ugh yes... That is exactly how my labor felt too! The feeling in my belly was nothing compared to the head been driven into my rectum. I couldn't sit or lay down. I was standing for the first 8 hours of my labor, I just couldn't sit or lay down. I think I will probably do a lot more hands and knees this time! That's probably the only way to get some of that pressure off!

I had that feeling too, the last few days before my c-section. Everytime I had a contraction it felt like this intense pressure on my rectum, and everytime I had to pee and I sat down on the toilet it hurt so badly, that pressure again. Ugh. I think if I had anything in my bowels it was worse.

Yep, pressure there and on my bladder and my inner thighs!

This little one has been sitting lower than my first one from the beginning.

She has been on my bladder for quite a while now. Sometimes I think she is kneading it like dough.

The first time I don't recall having this sensation at all and didn't feel any "dropping" as the due date approached, but she was totally in position and ready.

Trystan never dropped, not until I was in the hospital and had my water broken, so I never had the feeling you described... I just had never-ending pain!!!!
