Uncomfortable

For the first time last night I felt true discomfort and pain with this baby. He is sitting so low that he is affecting my nerves. Each time he moves I get this shooting pain that rockets through my pelvis to my lower back and then it shoots down each leg through my inner thighs. It feels like a bolt of lightning ripping through my body. I almost fell twice yesterday because he moved as I was walking and the sensation makes my legs buckle when the pain hits. No position I got in alleviated the pain completely but at least if I was laying down in bed on my side it helped some. This went on for several hours and I honestly thought I was going to pass out from the intensity. I was begging Ryan to stop moving because that is when the pain was triggered and he was being super active. Thankfully he finally moved off the nerve and he must have fell asleep because the pain stopped. I do not wish to repeat yesterday evening ever again.

I am still having little "shocks" of pain sporadically but it's not constant like it was last night. Well, not yet anyways!

Youch. And I thought my cramping and BH were uncomfortable! I hope he stays off that nerve for you!

That sounds scary - the almost falling when he kicks part.

I do get what feels like electric shocks sometimes but its in my belly, never my legs. I guess they just find a favorite nerve and hang out around it?!

I'm no expert but it sounds like sciatic nerve pain to me. When I had it, my chiro suggested ice on the area for a bit of pain relief. No heat as it will aggravate the problem. You might also get some relief from chiro treatments (it will help relax the ligaments so LO can get in a better position - ie. NOT sitting on your nerve!) Hope it settles down for you!!

Bummer, I'm sorry. Nerve pain is no joke.

That sounds like torture!! How awful Sad I second the chiropractor suggestion. Hopefully that would help...in fact, I'm off to my chiro appointment now!!

Ooohh girl I know EXACTLY what you're going through! This is the sensation that I have whenever I try to roll from one side to another in bed. It's terrible! I will say that last night, for the first time ever, I found a comfy position! It took three pillows layered on each other like stairs (the middle pillow is actually a long body pillow), with the middle pillow sticking out a little so that it gives my back some support. I'm sort of in a half sitting up position, but it was so nice... and I woke up with no pain! I wish I would have done this months ago... you should try it out. I hope you feel better!

I tried every position I could think of yesterday. I swear I would have stood on my head if that would have taken that pain away! For me walking is far more difficult. That's when the pain is at its worse. Laying down it's better but I still get a shooting pain now and then. Maybe I could ask my doctor about a chiropractor.

Definitely get it checked out, ouch!!

For what it's worth, I just came back from my chiropractor today and I am feeling incredible relief. I wasn't having the nerve pain, but I was quite twisted. Now when I walk I don't waddle so badly and I feel solid when I stand. The baby also dropped!! I saw a huge change in my belly shape and I can feel space between my breastbone and baby's bum now lol.

Anyway, the relief can often be that instant. Sometimes you do have to go back repeatedly because you can get out of alignment again, but a good chiropractor will try to get you as far as possible between appointments, rather than just tell you to come in every few days (like my last one did, he was basically just robbing me!!). I hope you are able to find relief one way or another soon!!!

I have a doctors appt on Monday. I work tomorrow 7a-7p and I really can't take the time off work. Ohh, I wanna scream. As long as I sit down I am okay. As soon as I stand up the pain starts to intensify.

I'm not sure that is sciatic nerve pain! It is usually relieved by standing and aggravated by sitting. Ugh, waiting until Monday sounds brutal! I'm kind of confined to the sitting position too. When I stand up I feel like a baby is going to fall out of my whoha.

I have alot of pressure as well. I think he may be pressing a nerve somewhere, not necessarily the sciatic nerve. I just keep thinking "what if he's trying to come out and this is labor." LOL I seriously doubt it but since I was induced with Brynna I don't know what "going into labor" feels like. I have the BH frequently anyways so I don't think having contractions will be helpful...lol

For sure! I feel the same way with what is going on with me too! I don't know if this is false labor, preterm, real or what!???!

My guess would be sciatic nerve pain as well, but either way, it sounds horrible. I'm sorry you are in so much pain. Hope it gets better!

Sorry you're having so much pain...that sucks. Are you planning to try the chiropractor?
