vetoing a name

(I totally just butchered the spelling on "vetoing" -- but you get it. I was shot down!)

Now that I've made it past 12 weeks, I feel like maybe I can start considering some names. I mentioned one boy name which I LOVE to dh tonight. He vetoed it just as soon as it came out of my mouth!! He didn't even give it a chance. I told him to think on it. Wink Seriously, who has to push this baby out anyways?!

The name was Benji, for a boy of course. I just LOVE it. I think it goes so well with our son's name - Miles, and it's a similar name to Miles' name -- not totally bizarre, but not common either.

Guess I won't get my little Benji afterall. Boo!

I'm sorry! Last baby DH turned all the names I liked into female body parts. That was tragic! How a man can rhyme all names with body parts is amazing, I guess where there is a will there is a way.

Good luck!

Naming to body parts harsh. With DH names I came up with he would reference a girl or boy he knew with that name that he did not like and out was the name

I feel you Ashley. Jus shoots down every name I like and I do the same to him. I think we have kind of decided to not even seriously talk names for several more months because it's so frustrating.

I want Addison so bad and he says absolutely not. Sad

I hear ya. Since I was like 5 I wanted to name a daughter Autumn, but my husband hates it. Sad Good thing is I think we have a name for each gender that we both mostly like, even though there are a lot of names that one likes that the other detests.

my BIL's name is Benji, so I like it too. I hope you can get him to at least give it some though.

I chose Addison for the girl too. I adore that name DH said yes but not definate yes, he wants to keep looking but keep that number one if we don't like anything else..

I hate when they do that!! That's how my husband and I are with each other though. We have different tastes in names. It's a miracle we ever came up with a name for Brynna.

My DH does the same thing...I wish he would think about them for at least a day before he says NO!

LMAO that's too funny... it's the same story with my DH! My girl name is officially Bella Monroe (which I love more than life itself pretty much!!) and he says he hates it and won't give it a chance. I flat out told him that's what I'm naming her if it's a girl...PERIOD. Like you said, I am the one who's carrying this baby for 9 months and pushing "her" out!! We haven't discussed boy names because I'm really praying for a girl and don't want to go down that road unless I absolutely have to. I'm so sick of looking at baby names (as this is #4 so I've read and seen every name under the sun!). I know 100% this will be my girl name, regardless of what he wants!

I love it! To me it sounds like a tribute to Bill Monroe.

Well it's a slowwwwww process LMAO! Even today he was like, "I hate that name, you know." I was like, "I really don't care." That was the extent of it lol! That's what her name will be and he'll just have to deal with it. I don't know why men care anyway... I told him when she gets here he'll be so overwhelmed by her beauty that we could call her "crapbag" and it wouldn't matter!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The way I see it, the kid get his last name automatically. I have to do all the work. And it is the mother's legal RIGHT to name the baby. I get the pen, I get to pick!:D

Although I do plan on spending the next few months convincing DH my choice is the best. Besides I have personal reasons for choosing the manes, and I don't think DH is willing to go there...
