What have you purchased so far?

I see that most of you are not first-time moms, but has anyone purchased anything related to pregnancy so far? Yesterday, I ordered the book "Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn: The Complete Guide", Motherlove Pregnant Belly Salve, and Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Stretch Oil, all from Amazon.com.

I haven't purchased anything yet and probably won't until we find out the sex. I have a boy and girl already so we're pretty well covered but I'm sure I'll pick up some little things along the way!!

I have not but I am thinking about running to Target and getting some Baby lotion to use for myself.

A couple months ago I got "the girlfriend's guide to pregnancy" and a baby name book at a consignment sale for $1 each. I couldn't pass it up so I'm glad I have them now. I have a few books from before also.

For baby #2, I will probably pick up a gender neutral Easter outfit on clearance size 3-6mo next week. I'll probably do the same with 4th of July outfit and some of the baby's first stuff.

Unfortunately Nicholas was a summer baby so I won't be able to use much of his clothes. Everything else we did gender neutral so we have all the necessities....crib, car seat, pack and play, swing, bouncer, toys, etc.

I'm thinking about trying to find some maternity clothes on clearance for the winter time. I am set for the summer minus some shorts and I have a few 3/4 sleeved stuff but not much.

A word of advice- try to find some consignment sales! They have awesome deals if you know what you are looking for and can save tons of money on almost brand new things.

I won't buy anything for awhile. Maybe some lotions or something for my skin but nothing for the baby specifically.

Thats a good book! I have that one and "your pregnancy week by week" is another good one if anyone is looking.

I havent bought anything for baby. I have everything i need for a single baby. If its twins, then i may need to buy some more stuff but not much really. Maybe more cloth diapers for the newborn stage. Or if this baby is a girl I'll need some pink. Lol I have ZERO pink in my house. Dirol

Angela ~ I hadn't even thought about buying holiday outfits and maternity clothes on clearance. That's a great idea!

I wasn't planning to buy much for the baby, simply because I know my family will have a ton of things to give me, but I couldn't resist buying a few little things for myself.

This is my fourth baby, so as far as pregnancy books... I don't think I'll need one as I am pretty prepared for pregnancy lol! You can look at baby names on the internet, so no need for books there, and I won't be buying anything baby until I find out the sex!

We've been trying so long that along the way I've picked up a few things. But I haven't gotten anything since I found out I was pregnant.

Ha ha, I went out and bought a bunch of winter maternity tops on clearance. And I have been buying a few random things from babysteals over the last year since we have been TTC this whole time.

We also have a girl and a boy so we have nearly everything we need, although our 2 are summer babies so we'll need a little boost in the clothing inventory.

We also need to buy a new infant carseat as ours will expire in December 2011. (I'm happy about this! I hated the straps on that darn bucket and really hope that our new one will be better).

Other than that, we're set!

Yay for the new seat! Our will last just long enough for this one then its garbage or recycle. Anyone know if you can recycle carseats?

I haven't bought anything yet, but I'm going to need to buy more prenatal vitamins soon. I'm going to try the gummy ones this time, they look good! Lol

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can recycle them. I think the biggest concern is destroying it (assuming it's expired or damaged) so that no one can pick it out of the garbage and try to re-use it. So I've heard people say you should remove the straps and cut them up, then destroy the seat and base with a sledgehammer or something! LOL, could be fun times. Wink
