Who's pumping?
Who is pumping to build up a stash? How long do you pump? What times do you pump? How much do you get?
I am pumping to build up some milk for when I go back to work. I have about 8oz frozen already for a week of pumping. I am pumping for about 10 minutes two times a day, once in the middle of the night when I give Emily a bottle (try to get her to take a full feed instead of just fall asleep at the boob) and then again in the morning after I feed Emily. I am getting about 4oz in the night pump and 2oz in the morning pump. Emily drinks 2oz in the middle of the night right now.

I'm not pumping to build a stash, but I do pump every day for Trystan to have milk the next day for when I'm at work. I'm taking fenugreek and I rented an electric pump to help out, since I work full time and pump three times while at work. I get about 1oz per boob when I'm at work, and about the same when I'm at home. I pump while I'm feeding him also. I do get the most at night because he's only waking up once around 3-4AM now, so about 5 hours go by and my breasts get pretty full... so like last night I pumped on one side while he ate and got 3oz out. It's frustrating, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to BF this baby until he's one year old! It sounds to me like you're doing a great job though, Angela!

**Lurker** when I was building my stash....for work I pumped everytime after she ate for 20 mins. My stash dwindled a bit once I went back to work cuz I was too tired pumping during the night. Now I pump before work(after her morning feed) 3 times at work for 20 mins and then at least once after work before bed.

I definitely need to get all my pumping supplies out bc I am going back to work in 2 weeks.

I don't have a stash at all -- anything pumped is used right away. I should pump more but I do it maybe 4 times per day. I should do it like 8 times, I think. I get 2 oz (worst case, if I JUST nursed both) to 7 oz (also worst case, if I haven't nursed or pumped in 4 hours or so). Typical is 4-5 oz now. With loads of goat's rue and fenugreek.

I was pumping like a madperson because ryan wasn't feeding well at all and he was just taking the bottle not the breast. We froze a bunch in an ice cube tray so they come in 1oz portions. I hate to waste what I worked so hard for! Ryan is eating much better now at the breast but I still try to pump after most feedings to make sure my supply keeps up. The doc told me today to drink 2 oz of dark beer every late afternoon to keep the supply up. She also said she could prescribe somethin for supply issues but I would prefer to do things naturally. So far the supply seems ok bur I want to be proactive since I've been pumping and using the nipple shield so much. I do Plan to build a stash to give me more freedom though.

I have about 60oz in the freezer. I pump every morning and get 5-6oz. When we all get up I get Evan situated with his cheerios, I put Rory on my left side and pump my right. I get about 4oz then Rory finishes and I pump another 1-2oz from my left side. Honestly I don't pump more than this b/c if I do my supply will go haywire. My goal is to have 150-200oz in the freezer by the time I go back to work in Feb which should be pretty easy to do if I pump 5-6oz daily. We bought a chest freezer so I'd be able to keep the milk longer.

That's great Katie... way to go! I pumped 15 oz over my two days off and froze them in bags for the first time. I like having a little stash so that on my work days I'm not so worried about how much I will pump and I can concentrate on work a little more. I find pumping at night to be the most productive, as I can get 3oz out of one side while Trystan eats on the other... and that's one bottle for him when I'm not there. Now that I'm ahead a little bit I'm going to continue to pump once at night, so that coupled with what I get pumping at work should do the job for now. I also have a huge stash of formula just incase something happens months down the road and my milk supply dwindles. I have about 15 cans already... and I haven't bought one of them! I just got online and signed up on enfamil and similacs websites, and they've not only sent me all these cans for free but tons of coupons for $5 per can!

I don't go back to work until April. I pump now because I'm a milk cow and my boobs need the relief. I usually pump in the morning while feeding and then once in the afternoon. If Jonah is up at night, then I can pump and give the new milk and baby to DH and go back to sleep!
Also, if my nipples are sore I can take a break by pumping and then feeding a bottle. I have the Medula Advanced & it works great. I have started my stash too!
To answer your questions: In the AM I get the most milk. W/baby I get 4-oz on one side, w/o baby I get 8-oz. After that I can get about 6-oz w/o baby and 4 w/baby on one side. If I pump after he eats I usually get 2-oz w/both boobs.
Right now I am pumping to get through this time while Jonah is learning how to latch properly. I keep a bottle a day around to give myself a break.
