Working out

I know some of you are not feeling sick...but I feel horrible! Three weeks ago I was running 25 miles a week, plus cross training and basic work out stuff. Now, I cannot even think about it. I have run 2X since I got my BFP. Am I alone? Is anyone else too tired and sick to move off the couch?

Also I am starting to remember I DID feel this awful with my last pregnancy. It was MONTHS! I keep panicking and spontaneously crying like a baby about it. Sad I forgot how very bad this is. I need my second Tri to come soon!

Sorry you're feeling so bad. I hope it's over soon and you can get back to feeling "normal" again (or at least as normal as a pregnant woman can feel). I am not feeling overly tired or sick, but I have just completely lost my motivation to work out. I know that working out will be really good for me and can make labor and delivery easier, but I am just really having a hard time peeling myself off the couch. Maybe it's the weather...non-stop rain for the past 2 weeks! Blah.

I was working out 2x week on the elliptical before I found out. Since then...nada. I need to get back on there and take it easy. It is great to work out (lightly) in pregnancy because it helps you stay in shape for when the baby comes. I worked out until my 3rd tri last pregnancy and that was good. This time I hope to be active until the baby is born, but we will have to see how I feel Smile At least I will be chasing after a toddler for the entire pregnancy this time. No more coming home from work and laying on the couch for the entire evening.

I know it's silly but I am afraid to work out right now. If I over exert myself I start to feel crampy and it scares me. So for now I am just taking it easy. Besides, I am so fatigued I couldn't work out if I wanted too! I am lucky to get us some clothes washed, clean the dishes, and fix dinner.

I aim to barf before going to the gym, then I'm able to get through a swim. I'm thinking about bringing my own little trash can to keep at the end of my lane though. The first day I felt too ill to swim was Friday, then there was so much going on on Saturday, and the pool was closed Sunday (grrrr!) and so now I feel like total crap for not having swam in three days. Exercise helps Sooooo much for me if I can just throw up ahead of time.

I have a treadmill at home, yesterday I got on with the intention of running. I did a 5 min warm up. Then got off and feel into the deepest sleep for an hour (in my bed). I guess that was my body's way of saying no?!?!?!

I know what you mean about not being able to sleep as much as you want....my three kids are starting to get cabin fever.

I am with you. I am an avid runner and was running 25-30 miles per week. I do feel sick and the weather is starting to get warm. I have gone to walking/running. I will run for a little bit and than walk and than run...you get the picture. It keeps my heart rate under 140 and I don't feel so bad either. I know that it is important to get excerise so I at least try to power walk if I don't feel well enough to run. Great book I found on running while pregnant that I used my first pregnancy titled "Running & Pregnancy" by Chris Lundgren (its a woman)

Cool!

My endurance seems like it is already shot, it has been three weeks. I have run once. I did a run/walk and last night walked about 2 1/2 miles. Then came home and passed out again! I am not winded, but so tired!

Jess- I am also scared to push it. I had a m/c at about 10 weeks in my past. Heart beat up to the day before the m/c....I know running does not cause it, but, I don't want to feel like I could have changed things.

Does anyone else feel like they are easily winded? like from just going up stairs and stuff? I wasnt like this before this pregnancy and i remember getting like this at some point in pregnancy before but i dont remember it being this early on. Hmm...

I am!! I have been for a few weeks now. I think my doc told me it was the start of increasing blood volume causing it.

I feel the same way. I'm not as die hard as you are about working out, but I must say my gym membership is going to utter waste right now! I'm just so tired all the time! I need to get up off my lazy butt and at least walk on the tread mill! I'm sure the exercise will give me more energy... if I can only make it out to my car to make the drive lol...

I also get winded very easily! Drives me crazy. I mean one flight of shares should not make someone out of breath!

The windedness (is that a word?) started for me yesterday. We have a 2 story house and I was tired after going up the stairs! Ughhhhhh so it begins. I also get dizzy when I bend over.

I've been walking a couple miles in the evening with my SIL, but other than that I haven't done much. I try to do the wii fit plus on rainy days but I haven't done anything but walk lately.

I haven't done anything. Like Jessicah said, I'm kind of afraid to after my m/c. I also get winded easily going up our flight of stairs. I'm perfectly content to sit on my @$$ and grow a baby. Biggrin
