Allergies?

I figured, why stop at muscle cramps when I can keep complaining about all of my ailments?? LOL

Lately, I have been having the worst allergies I've ever had! Anyone else going through this? I haven't tried to take anything--I hate to take meds while pregnant--but I can't sleep at night from the congestion and sore throat and I have sinus headaches all day. UGH! Do you take anything for allergies while pregnant?

Yes! Early on it was bad, and I did take Claritin w/DR permission for it. October is one of my big months for allergies so I may be taking more. I'm with you on not wanting to take meds while pg.... I've had some cold/sinus infections that I've suffered through... but allergies can be really dibilitating because they go on for so long.

I have been dealing with off and on allergies for the first time in my life this pregnancy!!! Some days my nose runs constant. If I do have some night time congestion, I use a little vicks on the end of my nose or under my nose to help but I have been able to deal with it fo the most part. I was going ot ask the doc about what options I have if it gets worse. Some days are fine and others are crazy!! Haven't figured it out yet!

GL! I would call or ask especailly if you are dealing with bad sinus headaches...could turn into a sinus infection! There has been just a couple days I have had to actually take tylenol for the headache part of it.

yeah, I've had to take Tylenol for the headaches and for the sore throat too. Yuck! Allergies do seem to last forever and I usually don't even have allergies when I'm not pregnant--like you, Robin! I will probably ask my doc on Wednesday what I should take. I looked on the doctor's website and Claritin is listed as being safe for pregnant women so I may just have to give in and get some.

I have started having problems with allergies in the past 2 years, and this year is AWFUL! I have taken Claritin a couple of times, but I don't like to take meds during pg either...besides tums or zantac or tylenol... Hope you all get some relief soon!

You are speaking my language! My allergies are the worst EVER right now. Unfortunately, I've had them all my life and they run in the family. But this week...... unbearable! I might ask my doc about Claritin next appt too. I don't like taking most allergy stuff cause it makes me feel so off or sleepy. Yuck.

Not that I am glad that you ladies are suffering too, but is it bad that I am glad I'm not the only one? (whoa, you can tell I've been reading DD too many Dr. Seuss books lately!!!) LOL I am feeling *slightly* better today. But I still may ask about it when I go to the doc tonight.
