Baby's bath time

How often does your baby take a bath now? Where do you bathe him/her? What kind of lotion and soap do you use to keep that babe smelling fresh?

I am only bathing Sarah twice a week unless she has a blowout or massive spit up. My reasoning is she hates her bath and being naked. I have a portable bath that I put into the bathtub and bathe her there. I use baby Aveeno products for the bath and I have a baby Aveeno eczema cream I use daily on her. It seems to be helping but she still has some yellow flaking along her eyebrow and in her behind the ear creases. With DD2 I ended up getting prescribed a mild cortisone cream but I am hoping to avoid a prescription for Sarah.

Hey Melissa ask your ped if Sarah had cradle cap ! Its sounds like it . Carter has it and i was told that it helps to use a pea size amount of head and shoulders to get rid of it but ask your doctor first .
AFM i was Carter every 3 days but i wipe him down every day especially under his neck

We are shooting for bathing every few days or twice a week. With DD I only did once a week but she didnt spit up nearly as mug as John does. He's within the normal realm and gaining well, he's just more messy. Smile

We use either a mesh type portable tub or a plastic portable tub shaped like a whale that we just put in our tub. We also use Aveno soap. I like to use the fragrance free type until they're at least 6 months or older. We like aveeno lotion or Johnson's naturals. DS has really dry skin so I am using lotion almost daily. I wipe him down at least once a day on his neck to make sure he stays clean and his chunky rolls don't get raw.

Tasha, that's good to know about the head and shoulders. I will def ask my pedi about that for Philip too. He's starting to get the crusty eyebrow thing going on.

I *still* haven't given Philip a full bath yet. It's soooo cold here and he HATES being naked. Sad I do give him a nice sponge bath about 2-3 times a week though. I've just been using bath bath wash with chamomile I had left over from DS2. Then some baby lotion I had left from him too. It's amazing how much generic baby bath wash and lotion you get at a baby shower, isn't it? Heh heh! I think I have enough in my cupboard to send you all a bottle. Usually, I use Aveeno, but Philip doesn't seem to mind the other cheap stuff so I'm just going to keep using it.

Marek really doesn't spit up very much (especially compared to Kostas LOL) so I don't have to give him a bath very often. He doesn't have any dry skin either so I've never put any lotion on him. He still smells delicious though Smile
