Cooking makes me :gag:

I don't want to cook dinner! Do I have to? Dirty dishes gross me out. Touching meat? No way! I don't wanna fix a darn thing in the evenings for my family. Sad Anyone else feel like this? What do you do? Stock up on hot pockets? Lol!

Well....I've been hiding upstairs and letting my husband take care of everything. Thank goodness he's a saint. On the nights where he is busy, the kids and I have been eating a lot of cereal.

I have been slacking in this area because I can't stand it either. Last night I threw some chicken nuggets and fries on the pan and in the oven. Even the chicken nuggets grossed me out. Not the healthiest dinner on the planet, but I gave DS a multi-vitamin this morning so hopefully that counts for something, right? I am hoping that I will feel more like myself after the 1st trimester and get back to making better, more balanced meals. I figure 3 or 4 months of crappy meals won't kill DS or DH.

We have been doing sandwiches wraps and cereals. Cold stuff. I can't do the smell of raw meat or chicken..

I have been having the same issues, most of the time I just try to suck it up but some days I can't handle it and we go to the grocery store and raid the salad bar.

oh no, wish I lived by you so I could bring you dinner! I love to cook and now that I'm out of school and have more time I've been cooking up a storm!!! I hope I don't get too sick to cook. That would be tough. But I agree, a few months of not so healthy meals or cold meals wouldn't be a big deal. Hang in there!!!

Nope, well, I guess kinda but I just suck it up and cook for the family. Wink

I usually do not eat what they eat but I force myself to cook it.

This morning DH made me egg whites after my run (my usual breakfast) and as he cooked his eggs (with yolks) I nearly hurled due to the smell. I hate yolks anyway but it was so offensive.

I hope the 2nd tri is kinder to you!

I have had a really hard time cooking lately, especially with handling meat. It was one of my first aversions this pregnancy. I'm a bit squeamish about meat anyway but last night when I was breading chicken to make chicken parm I wanted to die.

Thus far I just try to deal with it as quickly as I can or make DH cook if it's early enough. He usually doesn't get home until late though so if I don't cook dinner (or at least get it started) it's not going to be ready until 8 or later.

Cooking has not been fun, nor grocery shopping. There are so many things that make me want to puke in the grocery store!!!!

I'm soooo glad I'm not alone. Tonight we had strawberry/yogurt smoothies, bacon maple waffles from the freezer (I cooked on a good day) and left over pizza. LOL And I've had nada!! Sounds so gross!

I really need to fly you over here sunny_gal! Not for me, but my poor deprived family!

mmm bacon maple waffles and smoothies and pizza... now that does sound pretty good to me! LOL I guess the worst part about not having MS is having all these crazy cravings for sugar and bread. Ugh. I feel like I'm packing on the pounds already!!! Do any of you have My Girlfriend's Kitchens around where you live, or any other place that sells pre-made, home-style dinners that you can buy and pick up for your fam? I've never tried it but I have some friends that use MGK every once in a while and they really like it! I wonder if that might be an option for those of you that can't cook right now.

Marie-check out this website. I just found out and havent cooked anything for it yet, but what GENIUS! Preparing crock pot meals a month ahead of time and freezing the ingredients in a ziplock. What a time savers. Maybe you could ask DH to handle to meat if it's a problem?

Oh, and we ate a LOT of pizza when I was in the 1st Tri. :0)

Deirdre, that blog is awesome! I know I am definitely going to try it so thanks!! Since I will be in school for two more semesters (this Fall and then I graduate after next Spring semester), I will need some time-saver meal ideas. I have a couple of once-a-month cook books that I have used, but honestly, some of the recipes don't taste great. These ones actually look better. Have you tried any of them?? Just wondering how they taste. Smile

I have't tried them yet Jamie, but I think I might try to get some ready this weekend if I get a chance.

Bookmarked the blog. I love croc pot recipes (especially healthier ones). This seems like a great idea for preparing for those newborn days when cooking isn't easy.
