Hey! I miss all the December mamas too.

How are things going for everyone?

How are things going for you Marie?

We are finally starting to get more of a routine going and I'm starting to feel like a better mom LOL. Everything feels more under control and more manageable with a loose routine. Marek is great and so happy most of the time. Kostas is doing great as well, its so nice that he doesn't have any negative feelings toward Marek. I've also been working really hard to break out of my shell and be more social. I've done several play dates the last 2 weeks and taken Kostas to several activities too. He is much happier since I have started this. It also recharges me. As much as I want to just stay home and hole up, I have so much fun when I do get out.

Picking up Kostas at the bus stop

Cloth diapering is going much better than I thought it would. I haven't bought a single disposable diaper since Marek was 10 days old. I have bought more pocket diapers and they are even easier and so darn cute. I'm also dabbling in Elimination Communication!

    My newest pocket diapers!

Breastfeeding is still going really well. I have NIP in soooo many different places, I feel so proud! I would always go sit in an empty room or in the car with Kostas but this time I just do it wherever I am. It is so empowering

Sleep is getting better and better. I actually woke up engorged this morning because Marek slept for 6-7 hours straight! That didn't happen with Kostas until he was closer to a year...

This Woombie swaddler has helped at ton!

I'm here! I pop onto the site and check if there are new posts but have had no energy this past week so nothing much new here. Our temperatures are extremely cold, yesterday was a wind chill of -48 so we are hibernating. Today though Sarah has her 2 month needles so we are off to the health office in an hour or so.

Sarah is doing well, eating lots and growing. She is still cosleeping with us although she will now nap in her swing or bouncy chair which is good. She will also nap for a couple hours in her crib provided she is on her stomach. Eep! I have only done it a couple times when I needed a break. I find I am constantly peeking in to make sure she is still breathing so it doesn't really give me a break. My oldest was like Sarah, as soon as he could roll and move he'd flip onto his belly.

I will post later today with an update on Sarah's weight and progress... I am hoping we have broken the 10 pound mark as she was 8lbs 10oz at 6 weeks!

Hi Shauna and Melissa! I know it's tricky to get on here with a new baby, ESPECIALLY when you have other kiddos, so I'm glad to see you both popping on. Yay!

I have my hands full too with Philip. Oy. I might start a separate post on that topic later when I get to the actual computer. (iPod thumb typing sucks. Lol)

Melissa, I thought a wind chill of -9 was low here! Oh my lord! I wouldn't be going anywhere! Where are you, if you don't mind my asking? We're in for more snow this weekend. Gotta love Ohio weather. This week the temp was a high of 63' and now it's a high of 17 today only two days later. Yuck. Can't wait to see your update from the Dr.

Shauna, love the pics of your darling guys. That's good Kostas loves his little bro. Both my boys love Philip too and didn't have any issue with him joining the bunch. We were a little worried with DS2 since he's only 3 and the 'baby' but he did great. I love your cloth collection. But then again, I DO have an obsession...... OMG! I love the booty salve you recommended. I got some and love it.

I am in Saskatchewan which is in the Canadian Prairies. Our norm is usually in the -10s to -20s so we are having a definite cold snap but it is usual for January. Here is a picture of out my front window...

Sarah's 2 month appointment went great. She is 9lbs 14oz and 21 inches long!

Awww Jennifer. Sorry to hear about the hearing loss. Is there anything they are planning to do later on to help him regain it? Or is there anything that can be done? It sounds like he's growing well, though. I'm glad you're still checking in here..... even if little Jay decided Dec wasn't his cup of tea.

Depending on the rescan, could be as simple as tubes, could go away on it's own, might have to go for mri or cat scan, many cochular implants.. Will know more in march after another abr test

So nice to see everyone posting! I spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro when John was only a few weeks old so the only time I'm actually on a computer is when I can steal a minute on my pc in my office and that's rare.

Shauna I love the pictures and that things are going great! I am excited to get more into a routine so we can go to play dates more. I'm sure DD will love it. I love your cloth! I too find pockets to be so easy an cute.

Melissa we have had some winters with temps that low but not in a long time. Sounds like Sarah is doing amazing! I hope she did okay with her shots.

Marie - I'm glad your older boys have adapted well. I hope things with Philip get easier. We had the same sort of weather. -7 one week 60 the next then snow overnight. I hate the back and forth stuff.

Jennifer - I'm sorry about the hearing loss. I am completely deaf in my right ear due to my prematurity (born at 28, was 26 gestation). I never needed a hearing aid in my left ear as they said it wouldn't make a difference. I hope that your little guy can get by with little interventions. I know it's different having hearing loss in both ears that's extreme, but hopefully he can adapt to it well like myself and many others I have met with considerable hearing loss.

AFM things are pretty good though money is really stressful. There are some things we have to make decisions on that DH just seems to want to put off. I get that it's not comfortable and easier to push aside but if he doesn't decide what he wants we'll be more limited. I try not to nag him about things like that but I also have a very hard time ignoring $ issues when I can't financially help out. I know it will pass it just feels like we've been playing major catch up for the last 26 moths so it will be nice to put all that behind us.

I had my 6 week postpartum appointment Wednesday. They scheduled me with an OB I don't know as well which was okay but I was bummed I didn't get to see my favorite /main MW and OB or the MW that delivered us. I got cleared for exercise and all normal activity so I'm going to get a new yoga DVD and start that soon. I need the stress relief and am anxious to drop the rest of the pregnancy weight and get toned. John is doing great. Getting huge (was 9 lbs 10 oz at 1 month and gained 3 inches). He usually doesn't sleep long stretches at night but we are getting there. We are taking the kids to Disney on ice tomorrow with tickets our family got us for Xmas. DD enjoyed it last year but didnt really get it. Tomorrow she is going to flip out. Should be fun.
