Default diaper rash or allergic reaction???

my 3 week old has a rash that is peelingher inner thighs along where her diaper meets her legs she is also red all over her diaper area. she has been only breast feed since 4 days old, i haven't eaten anything new, we have used pampers since birth, she is changed quite often, could it be a reaction to something? we have been using desitin but today she seems to cry either right before or when she urinates hard to tell. she doesn't have a fever...any thoughts? should i get her in to the dr before the wknd???

I agree I'd probably bring her to the doctor just for their opinion. I have heard that allergic reactions can cause a rash. I've noticed with my kids that sometimes they are okay with a certain type of disposable wipe/diaper and can develop a reaction to it. My kids are really sensitive so it works out well for us that we CD. I also find A&D to work like no other on diaper rash. Good luck!

Thanks! The Dr had us switch from desitin to Boudreaux's Butt Paste which seems to be helping some what today!

This sounds like my DS3's yeast rash. He had one at about a week and half old. No diaper rash cream would completely clear it up so I had to use antifungal (OTC) cream and wash/dry his thighs at each diaper change. I hope your baby doesn't have it and the rash is clearing up.
