Finally getting some exercise; you?

I have been the laziest mama EVER! (Thanks m/s and nausea.) I'm finally feeling much better and am ready to tone my body up. I feel like I have NO muscle tone. Ugh. Any other mamas exercising? What do you do?

I feel pretty out of shape myself! I also blame my m/s and fatique (that has yet to go away.) BUT I have been feeling better in the evenings so I have started taking walks around the neighborhood. It's not much but at least it gets my blood cirrculating a little bit. I am just concerned that if I don't force myself to do something more, then my labor is going to be harder because I am out of shape.

I was doing really well...until a month ago when I got a cold/cough. I'm still not back to 100% yet, but I need to get back into walking, at least. I was also doing level 1 on 30 Day Shred.

well at school I participate in fitness with the children which is often a 20min dance/aerobic session plus I try and jog back and forth to the printer rather than just walking for a bit of a burst. In the weekends however, I need to start doing something...

I have decided that in the evenings we will do Zumba as a family and then in the weekends we can do a bit of an extended session.

I'm definitely a fan of dance type work outs, I really cant be bothered working out if I don't enjoy it. I love going for walks but at the moment it is way too cold!

E.T.A Good on you Marie and Claire for getting back into it!! I too have been way more slack than usual because of m/s and fatigue! I hope you can get back to full health soon Lisa Smile

I have been lucky in that I have only had to miss a few workouts here and there because of M/S and fatigue. I have been doing boot camp 2x a week, cycling classes (which I teach) 2x a week, and water aerobics (which I also teach) 3x a week. I just stopped doing boot camp this week, it's just getting to be a little too much. Instead, I have done yoga 3x this week and a weight lifting class in addition to my cycling and water aerobics classes. I am still putting on WAY TOO MUCH weight since I'm not eating very well, but at least I'm maintaining my strength and cardiovascular fitness. Smile

Mandy, I love dance workouts too! I am actually going to a dance fitness certification workshop next weekend! Hope I can manage all day--it goes from 8:00AM to 6:00PM! That's a LONG time to be working out and dancing, but I'm excited to get the certification. I'm hoping I might be able to talk my club into introducing some new dance fitness classes!

I have hardly been doing anything other then chasing DD around. We used to take morning walks (about 2 miles) every morning from Spring-Fall until it became too cold but this summer it's so buggy out at our new house we can't make it far even with bug spray. I'm going to look into some prenatal yoga dvds as I can't do anything high impact because of another medical condition and I could use the added stress relief.

Thanks Mandy! I feel like I'm pretty fit but losing some of it as I haven't been doing as much as I normally do. I just don't want people to come to my classes and feel like I'm not fit enough to teach, ya know? So I've been trying to maintain as much as possible! We have another instructor that is due in December that is pregnant with twins! People are convinced there's something in the water... LOL

Mia, I think prenatal yoga DVDs are a great idea! I love yoga! Wish I had time to do it every single day. At the club where I take yoga, they dim the lights so it's almost dark in the room so it is a very comfortable and relaxing environment--quite a contrast from the bright fluorescents that are normally on!

I too love yoga. I've studied in studios like that where the lights are dimmed it's lovely! I would just take classes, but the schedules don't usually work for us as DH never knows how late he'll be getting home until the day of. On the up side doing yoga in the mornings before DD is up will be amazing, especially when I have a routine down enough I can just go outside and be with the birds. Biggrin

I am also thinking of starting doing Zumba again. I got myself the dvd's for Christmas but had to stop when I had some eye surgery in January. I can't dance but it's so fun and really makes you sweat.

Zumba is fun! See, I thought I could dance until I took Zumba--it proved me wrong! LOL I was on competition dance teams growing up and so I thought Zumba would fit right in with my dance background... umm... nope. I felt like a fish out of water flopping all over the place!! haha! But I still had a great time and would do it a lot if I could fit it in my schedule. And doing yoga in the mornings outside sounds amazing!
