Finding out the sex?

What is everyone's plans on that?

We've always had surprise babies, which I really enjoyed - I was sincerely shocked both times, my mommy intuition is clearly on the fritz! It was just fun and exciting, and since we don't tell anyone our name options beforehand, it was fun to get to make a BIG announcement once the baby came!

But since this is number 3, and we already have one of each and it will probably be our last... I kind of want to find out! Especially since Malcolm is a little older now and will really understand a bit more what's coming once we tell him.

So what is your plan? Ultrasound as early as possible? Surprise? Put it in an envelope and let the bakery make you a cake to reveal it? Smile

My hubby is SOOOOOOOO wanting to find out what we are having. He's being so impatient. With the other pregnancies I was the impatient one and he was the one saying "be patient". Now it's completely the opposite.

But yes, we'll be finding out. And we'll be doing an early US at 16 weeks to find out like we did with DS#4 and DS#5. I am oddly content with not knowing the gender.

I do love the 'nub' theory, though. I am hoping we get a good peek at the nub at the NT scan and then I can see if it holds true. It did for DS#5, for sure. With DS#4 we didn't get a nub picture so we shall see.

Right now I just gotta get to my dating US on 5/24, I NEED to see that everything is growing healthy and happy in there. Maybe then I'll get gender crazy. Wink

We'll find out with this one. I was on the fence about it but DH really wants to. If/when we go for #3 I told him I want it to be a surprise as it will (most likely) be our last baby.

I do LOVE the whole gender reveal thing with having the color hidden in a cake. I don't anticipate finding out until our anatomy ultrasound (assuming baby cooperates) at around 20 weeks.

We will be finding out. I like knowing while I am still pregnant for some reason. It makes me feel closer to the baby to know the sex, but I totally understand waiting until the delivery day too. I know the surprise has to be priceless! I just like planning. My only fear about diding out with the u/s is that they will tell me the wrong sex. I know that rarely happens, but gees that would suck.

oh I would LOVE to wait and let it be a surprise but I'm about the least patient person ever when it comes to that! I don't know if I can take the suspense!!! But I'm definitely considering not finding out... although I tried to do that last time and I couldn't hold out! LOL I love the cake idea too, cute! What is the nub theory?? I've never heard that one before!

While the idea of waiting until birth for the surprise is awesome... My husband and I have no patience. We are wanting to do some sort of gender reveal thing though.

We are finding out. Our first pregnancy was a surprise although from the first moment I knew I was pregnant, I knew he was a boy. The second pregnancy we found out but didn't tell a single person so for everyone else it was a surprise still. This time around we are going to find out and we will be sharing with everyone. I am still getting flack from family members for not telling them the last time!

We will find out, we have people waiting to find out since they will be giving us boxes of clothes since we handed down to them. I am a planner and don't care for gender neutral anything, if I find good deals I like to buy when I can.

I pretty much have to find out, Ideally I would like to have alllll my shopping done by Sept and leave the "must haves" for the baby shower. I think that waiting until birth, if I end up having a girl, will totally break the bank - whereas if we find out in July I can slowly buy girlie items. If we end up having a boy again I only need to buy a few new born winter clothes and a few other things because I have so much back stock of boy stuff (only DS was born in March not Nov so its chillier).

This is great site for it. It talks about how similar the genders look early on and it's really about angles.

So you will probably have a baby shower with this one? I am just curious as usually around here there is only one shower for the first child, there are some exceptions. Some people do give gifts though when the baby comes though.

We will be finding out. Our ultrasound is scheduled for July 6th. I can't wait. I found out with both my DS and DD. I have to know, because I like to be able to plan. Plus I have so many clothes stored, since this is our last, I'll find out and then be able to donate the clothes that are for the other gender.

We have found out with all of our children--I like to be able to get everything ready before the baby comes. Although I do think it would be fun to have a surprise--I always wanted one and this will be our last. :/

LOL it is pretty funny!!! I had no idea but it actually shows pics of some "dangles" that point more upward and some that point more downward and that is the clue as to whether it's a boy or a girl. Crazy stuff!!!

We waited last time....I think we'll probably wait again...though everyone wanted to know last time....They thought we knew, but we didn't. We just picked a couple names out ahead of time.
