Default First appointment also a confession...very long

I had a great appointment this morning. It was pretty long. Had blood work done, pelvic exam that made me start bleeding as soon as she put the speculum in. Had another sono to check for a heartbeat and baby is bigger than it was on Saturday when I went to the ER my uterus is also no longer heart shaped. Which means it is growing just like it is supposed to. The doc couldn't see any blood or anything near the baby or in or around my uterus and since the pelvic exam made me bleed she is thinking that the blood is coming from my cervix it is pretty swollen and tender which she said was normal. Every thing looked and felt like it was supposed to. She said that if I continue to spot I will get a quick sono at every visit just to make sure. I am so glad I switched doctors!! She made me feel so comfortable.

I also have a confession, my fiancee and I have decided to place this baby up for adoption. I have already been working with an agency. I hope none of you feel like I have mislead you in anyway. I am very excited about this pregnancy, but after I had my son 4 years ago I decided I did not want anymore children. We are choosing an open adoption. I hope everyone is ok with me still being on the board. If not I will leave, but I really hope everyone understands.

That must have been such a hard decision to make. You are giving another couple an amazing gift. I don't feel you should leave the board at all.

I am glad that your appointment went well and everything is looking normal.

I'm so glad the appointment went well despite and that your cervix is to blame for the bleeding.

I think it's great that you and your fiance know what you want for your family and are giving another family such an invaluable gift by putting the baby up for adoption. I have a few adopted family members and they're just as much family to me as any blood relative. I also think open adopts are a great way to be able to stay in touch for everyone involved.

ITA with Emily that there's no reason for you to leave the boards!

I personally want to thank you for wanting to give your baby up for adoption because you give people who dont have the ability to get pregnant a chance to experience the blissfulness of motherhood ! Second i hope you are feeling better and that you have no subsequent bleeding . Lastly , dont leave ,its a pregnancy board your pregnant so why not stay !! You can still share your feelings and experiences with first time moms like me who need advice !

Thank you ladies for your support. I am so glad no one wants me to leave, I really didn't want to. After posting about all of this I got an email from the adoption agency I am working with and got the go ahead to contact the couple I have chosen. We have made initial contact and have been emailing back and forth most of the afternoon!!!

How awesome that you've been able to get in touch with your perspective adoptive family already! I've heard some amazing stories about the bonds that are formed in adoptions (especially open ones) between birth and adoptive parents.
