    Default Food.........

I don't have full on morning sickness, just queasiness that comes and goes.

Yesterday, I ate a piece of wheat toast with butter and a touch of honey before DH grabbed the jar away (he is on a no sugar kick). Then DH bought me a 6in turkey sandwich because we met DS3 at his school for lunch. I barely got down a few bites and was gagging. Then I found some salt & vinegar chips in the car. Got those down with not a problem Then I was waiting at the pharmacy for my meds (I have a UTI and kidney infection- OUCH) and decided to have a rocky road ice cream cone. I only got down a few bites before I had to throw it away because I was gagging. Then for dinner, I ate a baked potato with just a touch of sourcream. Then I had a small bowl of rice with a touch of soy sauce. I tried to have a handful of hot tamales candy in bed, but that didn't end well either.

It is like anything sweet is a no go for me, and meat is SO not on my list.

Any one else having weird food aversions?

I haven't had any yet, but I am certain they will come. I seem to get hit with MS and aversions at 6 weeks pregnant. This is actually my 3rd pregnancy even though I just have one DS. (We lost our other DS when I was 20 weeks along last year.) Anyways, with both pregnancies I was so sick! With my pregnancy last year, I couldn't stand red meat which I know is a common aversion. If DH even cooked it, then I had to go outside or run to the bathroom. So he stopped cooking it. I also hated hated hated orange juice!!! But the funny thing was that I looooved oranges! Weird. I hope you feel better! I know it's hard to not know when you are going to throw up at any given moment.

I can't wait until the day I can say I'm having aversions! I had tons of cravings/aversions with DD. Such an annoying yet reassuring part of pregnancy.

DH has been questioning me everyday about what I am eating. I think it bothers him that I don't have a regular size appetite lately.

as of Wednesday (your Tuesday) my sickness has changed from 'when I'm hungry sickness' to all day sickness. its gone from avoiding foods that make me ill to trying to find foods that wont make me ill.

I'm thinking of going to the dr and asking for something for the days i work as i cant go to work when i'm like this :/

I forgot to say, can you reassure him by taking some extra supplements or something?....I don't know many women who eat normally during the first trimester

You poor thing Mandy. I was on Zofran my last two pregnancies. I puked day and night until close to delivery. It hasn't kicked in yet (was around 6-8 weeks last 2 times). At this point, I am trying to eat enough so if I start losing, it won't be as bad.

I take my vitamins and such. He's just trying to be involved. It's so sweet when I am home. He tells my stomach good morning and good night.

With both of my boys I got sick on Chocolate in my first trimester. With DS1 I found that blue gatoraide helped my morning sickness... and I craved meat with him also. In my 2nd trimester my major craving was chocolate milk, and in my 3rd trimester it was chocolate ice cream. With him my morning sickness started at 8 weeks, and was every day till about 20 weeks, then went to every other day, and then by the end was once a week. With DS2 I craved salsa in the beginning. Then MS hit at 6 weeks. I was sick all day everyday, ended up on meds. Luckily it only lasted to 15 weeks and then was gone. With him I craved salads in my 2nd trimester, and subs in my 3rd. At the end I also craved m&ms chewed with crushed ice.

With DD the smell of meat cooking made me gag. I craved noodles with peanut sause at first. With her my morning sickness hit at 6 weeks. Luckily it wasnt that bad, and was gone around 13 weeks. I could barely touch any sort of meat through out my whole pregnancy with her. The one thing that I wanted on everything was tomatoes. That, and I never had an aversion to chocolate.

This time around I craved grapes and watermellon at first..... as well as some chocolate. That, and hu-hot. Now, I'm to the point that I'm nausous all day, smells make me gag (including the smell of meat cooking), and nothing is really sounding good to eat. I have found that I LOVE the honey oat bread at subway... when I am up to eating. The other day I drove to town just to get a chocolate almond sundae. Also, I am finding that water with a little bit of yellow lemon-aid goes down ok.

So, long story short, I would just chalk it up to the fact that every pregnancy is slightly different, and this baby just knows what it likes
