Anyone else's LO seem particularly gassy? DS doesn't seem too bothered by it, but he isn't the easiest baby to burp in that he doesn't usually let out a big burp, it's more like little sighs. He always seems to strain so much when pooping. He doesn't seem to be in pain, just that he wants to poop faster then he can sometimes which is strange to me considering he's EBF'd. I'm not worried about it, just was curious what other LOs are doing.
We're gassy over here. Also not good at burping. I do think it's the source of her fussy periods.
Anyone have a particular position that is best for getting there LO to burp?

He moves/picks his head up a lot, so sometimes this hold is hard but I have always had the best luck with having them sitting on my lap (or slightly leaning forward) while supporting their head under their jaw and patting/rubbing their back. I find that instead of just patting, rubbing upwards helps him too.
My mom claims to be the burping guru. She's gotten ONE burp out of Philip since he's been born. For some reason DS2 didn't burp at all either. Strange. As for the gassiness, you must be reading my mind! I stupidly ate sauerkraut for New Years and last night leftovers.Hello? Am I that dumb for real?? So my son has been having some bad days. For him, there is no good position. I did just give him some gas drops today and am hoping that helps. Our poor little babies!

We have resorted to gas drops too. Today's only the second time we've tried them. They work great for DD, but didn't seem to effect him much. THe last couple nights he hasn't slept well at all. DH thinks he might not like his cosleeper but I"m thinking it's that he's getting toward that 3 week growth spurt as he just nursed great an hour ago and already wants more boob.
My dad joked the other day that DS's whole gassy thing is just a "guy" thing in how he'll poop and then he's ready to pass out.![]()
Mia, that stinks the gas drops didn't help. For Philip, the gas drops worked great. I only had to use them twice but he seemed much calmer. Now if we could just stop all the pooping..... we nick-named him 'baby dookie' today.

I know what you mean about the poop Marie! I remember with DD being nervous because she didn't poop tons and with EBF'd it's usually the opposite. This kid I put a&d on him almost every diaper change just so he won't get a rash from all the poop.
Poor little guy was really uncomfortable last night but I think a lot of it was because he didn't sleep well the night before. He slept 3 hour stretches last night which was fantastic but is still a little moody today. I'm avoiding dairy today to see if that makes a difference as DD has a lactose intolerance. I'd hate to have to give up dairy again (mostly for the cheese and deserts!) but on the up side weight loss is effortless for me with BFing and no dairy!
