Thread: The Name Game

I tried finding the old thread about baby names but alas, no success. So I am bringing up the topic again.

Is everyone having some fun starting to discuss baby names? I know we were... but I think we already have our names picked out! I can't believe it because I was probably 7 or more months along before we decided on Alexander's name but the other night Troy asked me if I wanted to have a fire in the backyard and I said yes, as long as I could bring out the baby name book! We took turns picking random page numbers to read the names we liked from and in less than an hour we picked out a boy name! (We already have a girl name picked from before we found out Alex's gender)

So, without further delay, if we have a baby girl, Alexander Michael will be a big brother to:

Emily Lorraine

and if we have a baby boy, he will be a big brother to:

Theodore Brandt

Obviously these names are still subject to change but as of right now we both love LOVE them both so it is the current plan!

So how is everyone else doing? Does anyone avoid the discussion until they know the sex? Anyone else already have some picked out? Do you and your SO generally agree or disagree on names?

I am pretty sure we have it narrowed down too, but I am still not 100% sure about our girl name.

Boy: Griffin Benjamin

Girl: Bailey Lauren
(My best friend since I was 5 is named Lauren. Plus she gave her daughter my name as her daughter's middle name: Harper Claire)

Boy: John Anthony. Same as we would have used for DD but I'd like to use a nickname for John like Johnny or even Hans as there were many John's on DH's dad's side.

Girl: Ava (Marie or Luna?) is my favorite. DH said last night he wouldn't say no to it which is good! He's so hard to please with girl names. I also like Nora, Ayla and Fiona.

we did not decide on either until after they were born. The names we had for dd just did not fit and we went with a whole new name that came up after she was born.

I mentioned once that I like the name Ben for ds before he was born and my dd decided that was it. I didn't have much say after he was born, LOL.

I usually have a harder time with boys names but I actually think I have one picked out this time even though I think it is a girl. Plus some of my boys names that I do like dh has axed.

so maybe for a boy: Ashton Theodore

girls names I have quite a few: Sierra, Amber, Cassidy or similar, Josie, etc... I would like the middle name to be Ann though but we will see.

We only have first names picked, and we are still deciding at this point.

Boy: Alexander or Gabriel

Girl: Allison

i think i might have a few girl names but we had them since ds was born. when we found out he was a boy we had the hardest time. if its another boy we will be in the same boat.

nicole- brandt is unique i have never heard it before. it sounds great!
mia- i love ava and ayla! ava is on our list too but dh needs more convincing.

Ahhhhhh Theo is my favorite boy name! And then, (sniff sniff) DH totally nixed it. That would have been my son's name for sure this time if it weren't for him. Good choice.

You all have the cutest names picked. We usually have a front runner name but also a list just in case the name doesn't fit baby. (:

Our front runner girl name is Aven (Savannah or Natalia)

For boys we never agree lol I like too many boy names and dh only likes one-Liam...which I don't like with our last name

We've been having a tough time with names this time.

For a boy we love Declan James.

For a girl (this is where we're having a hard time), We both like Lillian Abigail. We would call her Lily. For some reason as we get closer to finding out I feel like I'm not really loving the name, just liking it.
