    Default Names

So has everyone pretty much settled on names? Care to share? How did you decide? Any particular meaning? where did you find it? Are you sharing it with friends/family IRL?

As usual, I've decided on what I think I want... but DH doesn't really get into talking about it. Think he wants to wait until the baby is born or something. Here are my picks... they're all family names.

Brian Matthew O___ JR [ would possibly call him Matthew or Matt ]

Brianne Kristine O_____ [ would call her Bree or Brie... not sure which way to spell is more common... ]

Teresa Kristine O_____ [ possible nickname of Reese ]

I love all of them. The boy name is a strong name.
I love both girl names and their nicknames. Reese is really cute!

We decided on Griffin Benjamin B______
I just like the name Griffin and I was able to convince DH to go with it. He wanted to name him Finn, but I just couldn't picture myself having a little boy named Finn. I liked it, but it Griffin just seemed to make more sense or something. Benjamin is DH's middle name and we both liked it as well so we went with it.

We just can't agree on a first name. We have it narrowed down to 4 names and thank goodness we have the middle name secured!

Her middle name will Brianne (after my dad's middle name Brian) but her first name could be Sarah, Amelia, Madeline or Caroline! I am starting to have mini panic attacks as with my first 2 we had names decided pretty early on. This could be a situation of "see who she looks like when she arrives".

My parents said that I wasn't named until a couple of days after I was born.

Claire - Griffin is cute! So will you get personalized stuff made before he is born? I'm so parinoid about that because what if I change my mind!

Melissa - Yay for Brianne! Are you leaning towards any of the 4? I love Caroline, but with the middle name I think Madeline fits best.

Yay for Brianne! We have really good friends who have a little girl named Brianna or else we would probably consider it as a first name.

I am leaning towards Sarah or Madeline. I have always loved Sarah but Madeline keeps popping back into my mind. DH of course is leaning towards Amelia. I think he has Madeline as a second choice but am actually not sure. He keeps coming back to me with new names as options!

Ive found it gets harder and harder to find a name DH and I can agree on. As of right now this LO is going to be Kellen Isaac... But i still reserve the right to change my mind since this will more than likely be our last

We have had some trouble picking out a name too. Don't feel alone! My DH sucks at picking out a name and sticking with it. One day, 'oh, that sounds good' then the next day, 'I never said I liked that!' UGH! We did end up with two names I'm pretty confident on because they are tributes to my grandpa.

Kristy, if you are naming your son one first name but calling him by the middle, why not invert the two? I have nothing against it, but funny enough, I just talked with a man this weekend who is J. Todd S______, called by his middle name instead of his first, and he said how much he hated it and it confused people. LOL!!! Of course, I had to share, b/c it was too ironic not too.

It has been really hard for us to come up with names we agree on this time. DH drove me crazy for the longest time because I would suggest name after name after name and he would just shoot everything down. I finally asked him what he like and he finally said, "I kinda like..." That was a girl name. We can't agree on a boy name...guess it's a good thing baby is supposed to be a girl!

As of right now, she will be named Alivia Ann Y. Ann is a family name from both sides (we try to use a family name as a middle name). I am just worried because Alivia is a little more common than I would have liked...I really wanted Lakyn or Taryn or something kinda different. For now, however, Alivia is something we can somewhat agree on. I have started trying to call her by name, and it's growing on me more and more.

Brianna was my first choice but didn't want the scenario where people could pronounce it differently.... we were pronouncing it Bree - Anna.... but it could also be pronounced Bree-yanna. So Changing to Brianne solves that.

My brother is a JR.... Stephen James, and he has always gone by Jay. He was expressing the same thing... that it was a total PITA. But if I switch and name him Matthew Brian, then he wouldn't be a JR. IDK. Having trouble trying to decide.
