    Default Nursery Idea

Ok - I know I'm crazy because it's so far away... but I can't help it. I'm excited to decorate a nursery again.

My idea is owls. We're not finding out the gender, so I'm going to keep the room the neutral beige color that it is now and plan to paint a mural on 2 sides of the wall in the corner where the crib will be. (the middle of the pic is where the corner of the wall is). I'm not an artist... so I'm going to have to use pencil, trial and error, and hope to come out with a good product. The two bigger owls are supposed to be DH and I, then DD and the little wrap is for the baby owl. I'll wait to paint that one either light blue or pink depending on what it is.

Has anyone else started to think about it?

Super cute I love the idea! We rent so we probably won't be doing any decorating that can't be taken down when we leave. Also even though we have a spare bedroom I think I'm going to make DS share with the baby, not like he sleeps in there anyway..... he's in my bed by 1am every night.
I was thinking maybe doing an animal print theme, I'm gaga over giraffe print right now and if I end up having a girl I'm sure she'll have a surplus of that going around. I'll probably just get some canvas and paint animal prints on them and hang it up around the room along with wooden letters for both the baby and DS.

Awww, that's super cute! You can totally do that!

I've been looking at fabric to inspire to room but that's about it. I love to let that decide where the room goes.

That's so cute!!! I love owls! I like how you made them into your family.

I haven't started thinking about it yet. Our nursery is DH's office right now. I just hate to think about moving all his stuff to a new space in our house. There really isn't another place to put his desk except in our bedroom. Plus he uses the closet in that room to give me our closet space and now we will have to share. Boo! I'm sure once we get his stuff settled, then I will enjoy decorating. I love that kind of stuff, but I don't have any good ideas yet.

We haven't thought about it yet. We're going to have to move, we only have 2 bedrooms now. The first few months the Baby will sleep in our room, and then depending on if its a boy or a girl will have to either share with DS or DD.

I love owls! What a sweet idea.

DD technically has the master bedroom. We gave it to her because the other bedroom upstairs (ours) has a bathroom and is plenty big enough for us. DD and #2 will share her room at least while they're little. We have 4 bedrooms (one is my office) but I want them upstairs. DD's room is a sort of dusty rose color. If we have a boy I kind of want to paint it more neutral so we can keep a forest type theme but if we had to I could make the room work for both with cooler colors for decor.

ETA You're not the only one thinking ahead. I've started looking at my old birth plan because I love births so much.

So cute! I am not much of a decorator and don't plan on getting a crib set for the baby so I'll probably decorate with blankets, pillows and stuffed animals around the room.

No more nursery decorating for us

We only have two bedrooms on our main level (one being ours) so the plan is to have the baby in our room in the bassinet for a few months and then hopefully we can move Alex into a real bed and depending on the baby's sleeping habits he or she will get the crib either in our room or with Alex. They will be sharing room for a few years I imagine because we are still on a 3-5 year plan to get out of this house and there is no way I'm comfortable moving Alex downstairs by himself at such a young age. (We have 2 more bedrooms in the basement).

Alex's room is currently a medium shade of green on the bottom and a light (almost white) yellow on top with a Winnie the Pooh theme so it would be appropriate for another boy or a girl. (If it's a girl I think some purple accents would look nice once she is moved in there with him)

Kristie, love the owls! Oh so cute! If we have another boy, he's getting DS2s theme. Jungle animals. If it's a girl, I have no clue what I'd do. The thought of a girl is just not in my head. Lol!
