Nursing and gassiness
My Philip has been soooo gassy and misserable! I made lasagna and ate it two dinners in a row and it was not kind to my tummy at all! Everything I read online says what you eat DOESN'T effect BM. (Unless it's an allergy, like to nuts, lactose, etc.) Hmmmm. :/ I always was told by my mom (or my all-knowing 'elders') things that bother your tummy will bother baby's too. What do you ladies think? Do any things you eat give baby gas?
From the conversations I've had with DRs and LCs I don't think there has been enough research to really understand this. But I feel like moms describe exactly what you're talking about all the time. IMO it's worth staying away from foods that seem to you to cause issues. Do you think it might have been a milk sensitivity? Or just an isolated issue with the lasagna?
It's a tough call. I developed a lactose intolerance when I was about 4 months pp with DD. she is still lactose intolerant and I grew out of it within a few months. I have just started cutting out dairy to see if it helps DS as his gassiness and spitting up is crazy and I want to rule out intolerance before thinking about reflux.
I'd say it can't hurt to at least do a food log of what bothers you/him and see how things go if you eliminate those things for a while. I hope you can figure out a solution soon!
