OPK was positive yesterday...

DH and I have been following (loosely) shettles method (he really would like to try for a boy but we both would be just as happy as long as he or she is healthy.) I used a digital First Responce OPK since day 5 after the the start of AF and yesterday morning we got a Positive so last night we DTD. I am keeping my fingers crossed. We may try again tonight just for fun ;). I am so excited and hope we get a BFP on our first try. I felt some mittelschmerz pain on the way home on my left side so I hope we caught it in time! The only thing I am nervous about is I had my anual visit with my OBGYN today so I am going to mention that we are TTC. I wonder if a pap smear could mess anything up. I wouldn't think so but I will mention it just in case.

I personally would reschedule the appointment. No way would I want a PAP in the 2ww. I barely want one when I'm pregnant.

I agree. Plus you can get a abnormal pap. My dr told me to try not to BD 24 to 48 hours before. It sucks but I would try to reschedule if you can.

Appointment went AMAZING! I had a pap but my new Dr reassured me that he was only swabbing the outside and since we DTD last night, it would be at least 6 days before the egg would inplant. We discussed a lot about my first birth experience (DD was 10 lbs and I delivered vaginally) and he was so encouraging and nice. I have had so many Dr's tell me they would do a c-section for my next if over 8lbs and would not consider a vaginal birth. This Dr said he would love to help me have another vaginal birth as long as the baby was not a risk. I love him! He even helped me off the table when the exam was done (last few GYN's literally took their gloves off and would walk out saying have a nice day as they left.) After trying so many over the past few years, I am so glad to have found a Dr I really love. Now all I need is a BFP... Biggrin

Glad to hear you had such a good appointment. Nice to know you'll have an ob that you like when you get pg! When I was pg with my DS he was measuring pretty far ahead (head was at 99th percentile) and I was having weekly u/s. I think if I had been with another ob, I wouldn't have been encouraged to proceed with a vaginal birth. My ob's attitude was that he was just there to assist if mom or baby was in distress. Otherwise, he would let me labor/deliver however I wanted. I had the birth experience that I wanted and I LOVE him. Like you, all I need is a BFP...

Hope you're pg with a healthy baby boy in a few days!
