Petite + Short Torso = Early baby bump

I am only 5'2". The distance from the bottom of my rib cage to the top of my hip is one inch. Yes, just one inch. My torso is very short. DH is 5'9" and we have the same length of legs... it's a bit freaky, really.

My baby bump has been out-there for a few weeks now. I look much farther than I am. This makes hiding the pg pretty difficult.

Anyone else showing early?

I second the picture request. I'm not showing yet but even my non bloated state (short lived in the mornings) looks a little more like a baby bump then before. I'm sure I'll show earlier then I did with DD.

I feel like I'm showing way early too--and I am super tall!!! But this is my 6th pregnancy/4th child so I guess that is to be expected. With my first, I didn't show until I was about 6 months! LOL

I'm not very tall either, but I think the fact that this is my 6th pregnancy is why I am showing...not so much in the morning, but by the end of the day, my bump is very noticeable!

I'm only 5 ft exactly and very short torso and legs. I am completely showing. I popped out right at 14 weeks and you can definitely tell. I am also carrying extra weight from my previous pregnancies so that doesn't help at all.

I've only gained 2 lbs but I think I look like I've gained 15 or 20.

I don't look pregnant, just chubby. If I didn't tell ya I was preggo, you would have no clue. I never really showed with my kids....

Yay, how tall are you? I'm 5"11. I was HUGE with DD I seriously looked HUGE, I looked like I was about to explode by week 38. People insisted that I must be carrying triplets:rolleyes:

I need to take some 16week belly pics I think, I've been slack! My Team leader says that it is very noticeable that I am pregnant while others have said not so much. *shrug* I do have a belly that is poking out there but it could look like I just carry weight in my belly area more.

:lurk:

I am 4ft 9in, and this is my 4th. I started showing right away lol. Ps. my hubby is about the same height as yours, maybe an inch shorter... my sister is 5ft even and her hubby is 6 ft. Nothing wrong with a little height difference Wink

I am 5'3 but my torso isn't that short. My legs are on the shorter side. However, I do feel like because I am fairly short and petite that when I do pop I really pop. I don't have as big a bump as I thought I would though. I will be 15 weeks tomorrow. This is my 3rd pregnancy, but I had a bigger belly in my 2nd pregnancy at 15 weeks than I do with this one. I am not really sure why because I don't think my weight gain has been that much different. I simply popped out much earlier. Has anyone said anything to you about your tummy? Or have you noticed glances in that direction? I just started noticing them this past week at work. It's kind of uncomfortable when you have been trying to keep it a secret!

I don't want the pg to show yet so the popping out early is annoying (like you said ClaireCJ). I have an people just ask me... but only a few times. We finally told our entire families today b/c we don't think we (mostly "I") can hide it anymore.

I think I look 4 months pg. Even though I am bulging early, I've only gained 7 pounds since my IVF egg retrieval. My belly looks like an extra 15 lbs, easily! My goal was to stay under 10 lbs of gain for the first trimester. It wasn't easy with the enlarged ovaries measuring 80 - 90 mm each. I guess between the big boobs and belly, 7 pounds sounds about right.

I should love my early belly but I don't. I'm not ready for it.

By the way, I love being short.
