Hi All - I keep banging DD's head when I put her in the car (although she normally climbs in herself... sometimes she likes to be carried). Anyway, I noticed in the car seat section that booster seats start at 30lbs. Wondering when if you all plan to switch and if anyone's already done the research on safety ratings etc. There really isn't a need for me to switch her right now, but it sure would be convenient and easier.
If you use a booster seat for your older kids, do you remember when you started?

It took for ever for #2 to reach 30lbs... I wanna say she was 3 or so before we switched her... Maybe 4....
Regulations regarding booster seats are different in Canada as the child has to be 40 pounds before they can go in a booster seat. My 5yo DS is in a car seat that is 5pt harness until he is 65 pounds so I still have him harnessed and plan to keep doing so as he is only 35 pounds. My 3yo DD is in an older car seat that will harness her until she is 40 pounds and she is approaching 30 now. I don't have a need to move them as this baby will be in an infant bucket for at least the first year. I am thinking I will probably invest in another car seat as I want a full back booster which can cost up to 75 dollars and I bought DS's seat on sale for 120. I should state that I am very pro-harness as we do a lot of highway driving and I would much rather my kids be in the safety of a harnessed car seat in the case of an accident.
That being said, when this baby is born DS is moving to the third row of our van and suddenly having to climb back there to buckle harnesses might be enough of a pain to move him as sooner rather than later!
