Wow I have had a crazy, whirlwind week that started with inducing and delivery of Sarah on Tuesday November 27th. At my routine pre-natal appt on Monday my doc noticed blood pressure was up and sent me for blood work. Blood work came back with markers of HELLP syndrome so I was sent to the big city to be induced. Delivery was quick and uncomplicated but at 24 hours post-partum my BP spiked. I was finally discharged yesterday but am on BP meds and have to be monitored as my liver enzymes are high.
While I am ecstatic over the safe arrival of Sarah I am frustrated by my body post-partum. Anyone have any experience with pre-e or HELLP?
Sarah was 5lbs 12oz and 18 3/4 inches long. She is nursing like a champ but she is so tiny it's like she is a doll.
Well I have great news! My blood pressure has come down closer to where it should be and my blood work has shown the markers for HELLP are back within normal range so my doctor has officially moved me into the recovery stage of HELLP disease! It is such a relief to know that my body is working again! Sarah is almost 2 weeks old and just shy of 6 pounds already!
