So much to do, so little time!

So I have to admit something: I have done virtually nothing to prepare for the arrival of this baby other than wash the crib bedding. I don't have a hospital bag packed, nor do I have the baby's clothes washed! ACK! I do have some newborn diapers and I have some wipes, but that's seriously as far as I've gotten.

Anyone else still have things on their to-do list???

Defiantly! We need to replace our co-sleeper. That's the biggest thing on our list and hopefully we'll buy a new one tomorrow. We aren't getting one with a specific Black Friday deal, so if we don't get it tomorrow we can order on online no problem. We also need to get a couple premie outfits just to put in the hospital bag incase he's small like his sister was (though I'm thinking he'll fit newborn), a mirror for the car so we can see him in his seat, and a new monitor. Ours works and is video which we LOVE for the baby stage. It's in DD's room currently. We have a "standard" sound monitor we can use for DD, but the monitor unit on the video one has funky sound issues when ti's not plugged in so we want to replace it.

Other then that, the things we need can wait -- a crib mattress (baby will be in the co-sleeper for a while), boyish crib bedding, more cloth diapers and maybe some gerber prefolds or some recieving blankets to use for burp rags and multipurpose stuff when baby outgrows swaddling. I'd also like to get a changing pad and a new dresser for LO but we don't "have" to any time soon. I love the swaddle me sleep sacks and I know we have some warm ones I just have no idea where they're stored.

You have time! And you've got a place to sleep and diapers/wipes... everything else is just "extra" right? People put a lot of emphasis on the hospital bag but I feel like I hardly used anything from mine the last time. Vasoline for dry lips and hair bands to keep my hair out of my face was really all I needed. I figure if there is something I need/want I can send DH home for it after the baby gets here.

I agree that less is more with baby stuff. Sure there are some things I'd like to get for this LO, but as I told my midwife today we have our CDs all set up for the newborn stage, we have his co-sleeper, clothes, car seat is ready and my boobs aren't going anywhere so we're good!

I too don't pack much in a hospital bag. I thought about packing more because of being induced, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to want to spend most of my labor walking and doing things to get labor going not idling around.

Oh good, glad I'm not the only one that's not totally prepared! I did get some things done over the weekend though--I washed all the baby's clothes and washcloths! That's some progress at least!

This post has my name written allllll over it. HEEEEELLPPPPP!!! LOL Christmas shopping, no. Bags packed, no. What is even going in the bags? No clue. Wrapped gifts, no. Christmas cards written, no. I did finally wrangle all of the baby clothes out of the attic and organized all the clothes. Washed the baby carrier/car seat. So I guess, that is something. I'm glad I fit right in with not having stuff ready.

LOL Marie! Yes, I think organizing all the baby's clothes is a big step! And washing the car seat? HUGE! I wasn't even thinking of doing that. LOL Oh, I did order something for the car seat today from Etsy . . . I got a car seat canopy. I know I could have gotten a free one and just paid shipping, but that site didn't have a pattern that I liked that would match the car seat that I have. So, I got one from Etsy! I got this one: Carseat Canopy with Ruffle Edge Red Dot by fashionfairytales
But guess what? After I ordered it, the email confirmation said it would be at least three weeks. haha! So I probably won't even have it for this LO right away. That's what I get for waiting I guess. But I am glad I got a cute, homemade cover. It was expensive but oh well. Wink

I love it Jamie! I was *this close* to buying a whole new cover set on Etsy. Heh heh. I'm totally addicted! But then we had unexpected car repairs and I thought I shouldn't probably buy it. Although I reeeeeeally want too. Wink

It is so hard to NOT buy tons of things right now! I'm a shopper by nature anyway but for some reason I've had a major shopping bug lately and not even Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping has quelled it!!! I'm blaming it on nesting... LOL
