Belly Pic, U/S Pic, and Appt Today :D

Hi ya'll!

So, I went to the new ob today. I don't like him as well as my old one, but at least I've got less than a trimester to put up with him if he turns out like I think he will. I've got a HUGE baby...haha...though they didn't do actual measurements today, that will be tomorrow at the MFM. She is literally wrapped around my belly...her head is way down there her spine curves up one side of my belly with her bum at the top up by my ribs and her legs wrapped around sticking in her face. LOL I've got a baby almost the size of a NB already. Her foot is already 2 1/2 in. long, a typical NB foot is only 3 inches...soooooo, yeah, like I said, big baby. Not at all unexpected.

And here is the 3D from today. She def has hubby's nose and my fat fat cheeks. DS's cheeks weren't that fat at birth, much less this early. And she has a very strong nose, which I nor DS do. So...

That is her elbow bent back next to her face, her hand is behind her head.

And here I am...the 1st belly pic in a very long time....32w 2d

wow - is your hair that super long??? Glad apt went well.....i'm getting so nervous for you having such a big baby....lol. Any word on when you'll be having her - does there come a time when it's better for her to be out instead of in?

Yes, my hair really is that long. Biggrin

And I didn't know just how close my estimates on size were...as of the biophysical today at the MFM she is a whopping 6 lbs!!! And measuring 36ish wks in almost everything!!! Augh! Help!!

And to answer your question Jules, the point at which her lungs are developed and she's just gaining weight and "finishing" baking is the point at which it is better for her to be out than to stay in. At that point she is fully developed. I expect that will happen around 36-37 wks. My MFM today agreed that we can do an amniocentesis to check for lung development and take her early at 37ish wks if the lungs are good to go. Whew! That's a relief because I'll likely be lucky to only have a 9-10 pounder at 37 wks. If they make me wait til 39 wks I probably have somewhere at least in the 12 lb range... NO DESIRE to see that happen!!!!

While lung development is really important... the brain develops A LOT in the last few weeks as well. I had the steroid shots while in the hospital so that develops the lungs but they still want baby in there for brain development.
