    Default How to measure belly

Does anyone know how to measure the belly to see if it's the right size for GA? I'm just interested to see where I'm at because I feel huuuuuuuuge these last few days.

I know they measure inches from top of pelvic bone to top of uterus, and it should match in inches to how many weeks along you are. (28 weeks = 28 inches) Or be close anyway.

Not sure if that's what you were looking for, but I hope it helps.

PS I'm also feeling huge. MW confirmed that I had grown more in the last month that I did the last few months.

Yeah, I'd read that too, but how can you tell where the top of the uterus is?

I can feel it with my fingertips. I use my fingertips to push inward (about half an inch or an inch?) on the higher part of my stomach and feel upward and downward until the stiffness/pressure/tension inside changes. When it gets softer, that's the top of the uterus. Right now, I feel that change about three inches below where my ribs meet together at the sternum and about six inches above my belly button. Does that help?

Thanks, Marie. I'll see if I can find it tonight.

Ok, I definitely felt the change from soft to hard on my belly. About 3 inches above my belly button. But then if I measure from there down to my pubic bone I measure 11" (28 cm) which according to the internet means my belly is measuring around 28 weeks and I'm only 25! No wonder I feel like a blimp already!

Thanks, Marie. It's getting way past cute now. It's feeling super-huge to me. I posted my latest pic on the Belly Photo Updates thread.
