I think I'mma switch *APPT UPDATE*

So between not being able to hear the heartbeat for the full first trimester and...

the other night I panicked and call the dr and he asked if I could feel the baby move and I said no, not really but that I'm early. and he said that it's odd I'm not feeling the baby move...

I am 13 weeks. most women don't even feel the baby move until MUCH later. I have felt it but it's really hard to feel for.

I think I'm just going to be switching OBs

I see my high risk doctor today who is resigning.... So I am going to see what his plans are and what the plans for my pregnancy are and then figure out what's next.

UPDATE

My appointment went fantastic!!

I am feel sooooo much better.

Heartbeat: 141 bpm
Size: 7.79 cm

The heart looks just the way it should right now. There doesn't seem to be any abnormalities right now which is a great size. I can have a regular scan at 19-20 weeks and then I need to see a different specialist at 24 weeks for another scan. I am very bummed that the specialist I went to is resigning because I just think he is sooo great!

I have decided to definitely switch doctors now that things seem to be on a good track. I have decided on a female doctor at a practice with multiple drs. I am really looking forward to it.

Baby was kicking around like crazy. Even squirming and trying to move around. Filpping and tossing and being crazy. I looooved it. and I loooved hearing the heartbeat for just a bit. Smile We didn't get to do the 4D because the baby moved out of a good positive. Sneaky lil thing Smile

Chances are.... it's probably a boy. Smile Here are SOME of the ultrasound photos they took. They took a ton but I didn't get all of them. I wish I would have gotten more but I have at least 2 more ultrasounds so that's alright Smile

Oh... and I know that what I feel in my tummy is definitely baby moving Smile

This is the heart Smile

I think it's a great choice to be switching. My doctor never said I would feel the baby move anytime before 17-18 weeks. How crazy. I now know I do kind of feel something, but nothing 100% where I can say its the baby yet! So weird of your doctor to tell you at 13 weeks you should feel something! Everyone is different!

Just wondering what makes you high risk during pregnancy? This is my first high risk pregnancy, I had open heart surgery in May 2010 and received an aortic tissue heart valve. I haven't seen the Maternal Fetal Specialist yet so I dont know if they are going to handle this pregnancy/delivery any different then my last 2.

Soooo glad your appt went well. I am very surprised that your dr. told you that you should feel the baby. I think I have felt the baby a few times, but i go days without feeling anything at all. And this is my 4th! I'm hoping to feel more soon, but it might not be for another week or two till I feel baby a lot. Oh, and I definitely think you are having a BOY...that ultrasound looks exactly like the one I had with my last son. Smile

I am high risk because my last baby was still born due to a severe heart defect. But women can fall into the high risk category for many reasons. That's just my personal reason :/ I have had more ultrasounds this pregnancy and also had hCG levels taken which didn't happen with the last two. I see a regular OB for a majority of my appointments and then visit with a specialist only a couple times and then if something is found that is worrisome then I will probably see more of the specialist.

Good luck with the new dr. Hopefully they will better suite you and the baby. I totally agree with it looking like a boy. Looks like a picture I have from Taylors ultrasound.

lol yeah. It reminds me of Kamdyn at 12 weeks and Riley at 20 weeks. So I'm pretty sure it's a boy...

it's a little nerve racking though then because I lost Kamdyn. I worry I am going to have a hard time connecting a bit.. but I think it should be okay. Riley is soooo excited for a brother... we haven't told him this is a boy yet because we are waiting to make sure... but he always talks about wanting a boy.
