Anyone know how to get rid of a little dog? It is a tiny little young chihuahua that came running up last night. He is so malnourished you can see his backbone clearly and his poor little stomach is totally sunken in. I don't want to take him to an animal shelter bc they charge money to take him if they are a no kill shelter and I can't bear the thought of him going to a kill shelter because he's so sweet. Idk what to do. He seems house trained from what I can tell and is the sweetest little thing. But I really can't afford another dog, no matter how small and sweet. We're barely able to afford feeding the two we have. And to top it off, I have two really big dogs, and one is not the friendliest in the world toward new little dogs. He is definitely the alpha dog around here. I honestly don't think putting up signs is going to do any good bc a dog doesn't quickly get into this malnourished of a state.

What would you do?

Oh, Jana! That is a sucky position to be in. Could you ask a neighbour to take him in while you try find somewhere to place him? Also posting on FB groups for dog adoptions/shelters might get a quicker response than just posters in the area. At the least it might find him a foster home in the mean time.

I agree with Roxi try some facebook groups and craigslist. Hopefully you can find him a good home.

Day 1 of eating better for the gd diet. lol was starving by lunch. Hopefully since my numbers have been good so far it might mean I really dont have it but idk. Work is CRAZY busy right now. People need to stop buying houses and getting foreclosed on for a lil bit so we can catch up lol

He told me that I can not have this baby until January when we slow down. Yea ok I dont think so. It will be more like around thanksgiving. I told him it didnt work that way. IDK he was just really strange today. Alot of people were b!tchy today to.

So the doggy saga continues. Smile

I haven't found a place for it yet. I'm going to probably list it on craigslist if a friend of ours doesn't want him. Even my mom was championing me to keep him because Braxton LOVES him...he is just the right size for a little boy to carry around and play with. However, I'm still afraid of the two big dogs being with him. He has not gone potty in the house at all even though I know for certain he is now able to pee, having gotten enough fluids down him. I was just going to go ahead and take him to the shelter since the little dogs are the ones that get picked first typically, so he would probably not end up euthanized. However, I don't have enough gas or gas money to drive the 15 miles to do that. What gas I have has to last until Friday morning.

(I'm honestly starting to wonder if we're not just going to end up with a 3rd dog, and just make the 3 dogs work it out between themselves, bc even DH likes him, and he usually hates chihuahuas. He even started calling it Oscar last night, the name my DS wanted to give it the first night and DH said "No, no names." But then DH was the 1st to start calling it by that name. Lol)

Haha Oh no! Sounds like that little puppy is suckering you in! Smile hehe. I do love dogs. DH wanted to get a 3rd dog when the baby is born so that the baby has a dog it grows up with but DH realizes that would be way too much work for us. If we do end up doing that I would want another little dog but DH would want a bigger one. NO THANKS! Smile I like big dogs okay... but we have Sadie (medium sized border collie/ lab) and her hair is nasty. Sad I love my little coconut though.. he's

KUP on the puppy. Maybe you'll even find the owner!

So for the next 25 minutes I am still in the tripple didgits until my due date. in 26 minutes I will be in the double digits to have the baby. I know that it will be sooner then that but it makes it so much more real now.

And I think we found a home for little mister Oscar, the puppy. I had forgotten that a friend of mine recently had her little chihuahua stolen. When she heard about this one she was really excited. She has a 3 y.o. granddaughter that lives with her too that will really enjoy him. And we can still go visit him since they live near. Yay!!! This worked out perfectly!!!

Yahoo I'm so glad I stuck with my gut and didn't cart him off to a shelter!

Kati- oh man... that's crazy... that does make it seem more real huh! so much sooner... crazy! exciting!

Jana- Yahoo that's great news Jana! that's so great! I'm glad you found a good little home for oscar! Smile

SOOOO we found out that we can probably start moving out stuff next weekend. So not this one coming up but the following. That's good... and then DH will start on the 16th after our vaca across the state to see my sister's family 13-15. Smile His last day at his current job will be the 12th. He's turning in the notice today but warned his boss yesterday. I think I'm kinda excited but for some reason very nervous as well.

Yesterday my mom went and helped me clean my old apartment finally (we have until Saturday to be out). We knocked out soooo much! I was so grateful to have her help.. she's the only who has helped me so far. :/ I think we are going again today to try to finish it up. Woo. Idk if we will finish, but I'm certainly going to try to get it done today because my mom works Fri and Sat. :/ I also get DS Friday at 3:50 (after Kindergarten) for the week since it'll be my week.

DH is going on a backpacking trip Fri-Tues Sad I'm very sad because I'll miss him so much.

Jana Thats great that you found Oscar a good home close by and by someone that you know will take good care of him.

Maddie it does make it seem more real. Its gone by sooo fast. Good luck with moving and getting the old place and this place cleaned. Where is your DH going backpacking?

I told the kids today that there is 99 days until I am due and the baby will be here before that they are soooo excited. I got a storage thing yesterday off one of my facebook groups now I need to either switch rooms or get the kids toys out of my room so I can get it in place and be able to start using it for things. I need to go through what I have now for the baby and see what I still need besides the obvious things I know I need. Its so close yet sooo far away still.

Jana - Great story about the pup. What a good lesson for your family to learn, too, about homelessness and working to help someone out.

Kati - Happy birthday early!! Do you have plans?

Roxi - Congrats!

Maddie - You are a busy woman. How do you get up with everything!

Had my MW apt today. She thinks the "rib pain" I've been having isn't my ribs at all, it's my gal bladder. I have to track my meals and pain for the next few weeks and she may schedule an ultrasound on my next apt. How crazy is that? I totally expected to be told it's pressure inside my stomach from not enough room, and do my best to get comfortable.

We are leaving tomorrow AM for a family reunion. I am glad to be going, because my parents are so excited. But I'm not really excited at all. This side of the family is pretty disorganized, and nothing has been planned. Well, meals have finally been planned in the last two or three days. So at least we will eat! But, I"ll only be there for two days, so I can probably hang out by the pool and relax for two days, if nothing else. And I"m hoping I get an actual bed this time, instead of being stuck on the pull out couch. Call me a princess, but I'm pregnant, people! I want to be able to sleep well! lol We'll see how it goes.

Anybody else have plans for the Labor Day holiday?

No special plans for labor day other than our neighborhood parade and last min work getting ready for day of school the next day. Smile

So, afm, the past couple of days have been NUTS!! DH's job didn't notify their employees about insurance re-enrollment until 2 days ago and they had to be signed up by noon today. AND the premiums went up again for us by about $250 per month, which we really can't afford at all. UGH! So I spent every spare minute the past two days researching the diff programs for maternity available, alt cheaper ins (none of which would cover this pg and baby since it is "pre-existing"), and where I could find the cheapest self-pay dr and hospital. I learned way more than I ever wanted to know about insurance. However, I did learn that, even with c/s and 3 day hospital stay for me and baby, and self-pay with a certain dr, I could pay about $5000 for all of my pg and delivery, and hospital stay for both baby and I. The only catch is that it all has to be paid before discharge from the hospital, or it reverts back to the $20,000 I would usually cost, which jumps to about $50,000 if NICU becomes reality for baby. Under that program if I pre-paid, baby would only be $500 per day in the NICU too. Overall, not bad, however, there is no way we could afford it. We make too much money to qualify for any other programs, but the catch is we have too many school loans to afford the insurance going up any more than what it already is. So we are just sucking it up and figuring out a way to spend $850+/mo on insurance for the privilege to breathe. :/ (That's how it feels anyhow.) And DH is going to start looking for a better job come Jan, when baby's birth and all possible complications are behind us. :/

But I also discovered that there are no independent insurance plans with maternity in TX. You have to go through an employer for ins that includes maternity. Interesting. Are other states like that too? I'm curious.

Marie nope no plans for my birthday next weekend. My parents and brother that live in town will be gone and my youngest should be at her dads for the weekend so will just be me and my older two kids.

This weekend me and the kids went to my brother and sister in laws house. Their town is having their town festival so we came to spend time with them and go to the parade n stuff. Going to see Dispicable Me2 Sunday afternoon with all 7 of the kids. Should be interesting. I took my older two to see it awhile ago and they liked it.

IDK if I said this already- but yay about the dog! Smile

Kati- Happy early birthday! Hope it's good for ya! That was really nice of him Smile Holy moly 14 weeks... weird. it's crazy to think past the 20 week mark... you now have less than what you've been through at that point.

Roxi- THATS SUCH FANTASTIC NEWS!!! I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU! Can't ya tell Smile But seriously. thats awesome. i am so glad everything worked out for ya. must be a huge relief

Marie- Woah.. no bueno! My mom had gall stones when she was pregnant with my sister. She had to have surgery while pregnant.. and then they missed one and ended up having to do a 2ND surgery during the pregnancy to remove the gall bladder... idiots! Hopefully it is just baby squishing! KUP! I'd totally demand a bed! Smile Have fun!!!

Jana- Sorry about all the insurance issues... Since DH is changing jobs I have to look into insurance because it would be about $550 a month to have me on insurance and the baby with his new job.. and he wont have insurance for 3 months! :/ Nerve wracking! Obama care thing goes into effect in 2014.. I haven't really had the chance to look into it but I am going to... You should too because I'm sure that it will have better insurance programs... at least i'm hopeful!

How do I keep up with things???? OH... I don't know. I don't feel like I am. I have been trying to deal with moving, school, riley, his school, researching, selling old items, remodeling, cleaning, cleaning the old place... I am doing every very poorly I feel like... But I'm doing my best. I can't wait until I can just settle down. We are going on a short vaca to see my sister in a couple weeks.. I AM SO GLAD. We are supposed to do maternity photos together.. she'd due Oct 8... but IDK... She said all day today she's felt the need to poop.. I think baby might come very early.. I worry about her and the baby. Her first was born at 36 weeks. I want cute little belly photos together too dangit lol. But yeah.. because I'm so busy I apologize for not posting QotD that frequently and such but I'm trying.. Plus.. questions are hard to come up with lol

DH went on a backpacking trip today and will be gone until Tuesday.. So I have no special plans...and i just get to miss him dearly while he's gone... I cried this am when we talked about him leaving and I cried after he left... he got all teary too. I love my hubby... even though he drives me nuts at times.

So. Tired.

Went shopping for school stuff, the month's worth of groceries, Sunday school stuff, and then went and cleaned the church and started prep of our Sunday school room. Left the house at 8:45 a.m. and got back about 10 p.m. only to have to put away groceries still.

Exhausted. But saved money on groceries for the month, so that part makes it all worth it. Wink

OOo will you send me a copy of your monthly shopping list?

Do you also do small weekly grocery trips or no?

I'm very interested how you manage a month of groceries Smile

I do weekly milk, eggs, and bread (though I usually make my own bread, so I don't have to always get this) and if I need fresh fruit/veggies, that is by the week too. But I only save about $15-25 for all that for the month.

I plan out my dinners, or rather make a list of dinners and then pick from that list when I actually decide what to make on any given night. Usually only make 4 or so dinners per week. The rest are leftovers or a quickie sandwich/frozen food in the case of church nights. Usually DH's lunch comes from leftovers, and DS and my lunches come from sandwiches, corn dogs, easy to pop in the microwave and more portable stuff. I buy general stuff for the month of lunches and breakfasts, not exact #'s of things bc usually it isn't stuff that will go bad if it isn't eaten w/in the month, and I can always sub something else if I accidentally don't get enough. Also, I kinda just know how much my family eats in a given week. So I buy plenty of PB&J, box of corndogs or something like that, few tubs of lunchmeat, pckg of cheese, etc. I buy more according to what's on sale at the moment for lunches especially. There are a few things that are staples that I always, always buy, like tortillas, cheese, etc that whether I have something "planned" for it or not, it will definitely be used during the month.

I'm actually a really terrible planner. I make a list and plan out all meals before I go of what I think I will actually use and when, however, when I get in the store some of that may go out the window, and I may also get other stuff not on the list at all. I'm too random like that. DH on the other hand is not. If he sees my list and that I'm not necessarily sticking to it, it annoys him VERY badly. haha My plan tonight was not actually to get the full month's worth of groceries, bc I knew we usually can't afford to get it all at once unless I have carefully planned to do so, which I hadn't, but DH convinced me to bc we don't go to the discount store we were at often, so I went ahead and got a TON in order to make sure we had the full month covered. I was much less prepared this time that I usually am when buying for the month. But on the other hand, I was actually quite surprised that we stayed UNDER our monthly food budget, which I tell you had to have been a miracle bc we certainly got enough for the month and probably plus some. Smile

Hope my scatterbrained thoughts help! Biggrin

Awesome. Thanks Jana Smile You'll have to help me out next month. Althoght I know we are going to have more money each month... I still want to budget groceries and try to save money. I'm hoping that we are going to be able to buy a better car now.. We will live over a short pass over a canal and I am just thinking about winter driving in my corolla and dreading winter soooo bad.

So the last couple nights have sucked. DH is gone and so I don't sleep well when he isn't around... And then I have let DS sleep with me. But.. I slept terrible the first night and so yesterday I took a big long nap.. and now i've had another terrible night. it's about 6:24 right now and I've been up for over an hour. I was trying to just go back to sleep for an hour and it wasn't working so I finally decided to get on the computer. Blah....

DH went on a backpacking trip that was supposed to take 2-3 days... it's 20 miles... his brother and he finished it in one day. lol. So he is probably coming home later today. YAY Smile and then he'll have Mon and Tuesday off still. I am excited to be with him again. Smile

Sad think I broke my dishwasher. I did a load last night and then went to do the rest a little bit ago and it doesnt want to start. Sent an email to my property manager. Hopefully they can send someone out sooner rather than later and get it working again. Meh Plus side I did finish my dishes by hand. Too many dishes. lol Nice that I have the day off today. Went to my parents for breakfast and stayed there for awhile. Then the store again where I forgot to get bread ops. Kids are napping and going to do homemade pizza tonight.

Yum homemade pizza is delish... I haven't had a dishwasher in years! I miss one. My first apartment had one but since then I haven't had one. I do all my dishes by hand and I have a bad habit of letting them pile up. Bad Maddie Wink

I packed a ton today with DH. and while we were at his dads house we found some old super sexy photos of him Smile I will have to scan and share Biggrin hehehe

Thats great that you got a bumch of packing done. Does your DH know that your going to post the old pictures of him? lol

Wow! Lucky fish for getting that swing at that price!

DH is suddenly on a mission to get rid of unnecessary papers that we have filed and anything else he lays his eyes on that he thinks is taking up space. Which is a good thing because we need to make space before we can get anything for Squishy. And also because I'm really struggling to bend or even squat nowadays.

It is FREEZING cold in my office today. I have my hoodie on and fingerless gloves on to try and stay warm. SUCKS. Not supposed to be this cold yet. I got a call they are coming to look at my dishwasher tomorrow between 1 and 3 tomorrow afternoon so I get to leave work early. Wee ha. Also got ahold of who I needed to so I could get Trinity signed up fully for Ycare and now just waiting for the paper and then she should be able to start monday. Just have to get through this week.

Kati - I laugh thinking about you in your warm clothes. I have been so hot all weekend, I can't even imagine being cold. Come sit next to me, maybe we will help even each other out! Oh and I laughed so hard I cried about the auto correct. My fav was the one from Pamela.

Got some great news- my little boy was accepted to the preschool I've been trying to get him into since Jan. And, FH agreed to pay for it! (I am paying all of daycare costs, so it wasn't too hard to get him to say yes. I pay $500-600 per month, he will pay $110 per month.) I am thrilled about both of these. It will be two hours two days a week, and will be SO good for him.

Its been sooo hot here and my office has the air cranked which inturn freezes me and the girl I share our part of the office with. SUCKS. During the winter last year we didnt take off our coats or gloves and have our space heaters. Its HORRIBLE. But what can you do really. Then theres a part of the front of the whole office that is boiling year round so you go me and my office mate who freeze year round to them who boil. I was by one of the office managers desks the other day and about passed out because it was sooooo hot there. Our office is so messed up. Im glad I can make you laugh. Smile There were a couple days last week where it was over 100 outside and felt like it was about 20 degrees in our office.

Thats awesome about your ex paying for the preschool. Does he see your lil boy much? Thats not bad for preschool prices. Is it a private one? Taylor goes to preschool (special ed since he turned 3 at the beginning of the year) and its free (last year) and ($30 for the year this year)

Kati - Any warmer today?

My FH sees our little boy off an on. Normally it is pretty regularly every other weekend (Th - M), but Aug was hard because I had two week long family reunions and he missed his one weekend in between them. Hoping the coming months will slow down and be more regular again, because they both need each other. Called the preschool today and found out registration has to be in today for my little man to start with every one on the first day. I'm hoping FH gets everything in today. If not, oh well. I'm just not up for fighting about it. Little man is in a great daycare and they do preschool each morning, so it's not as though he is missing out. (He was actually moved to the four year old class when he was two years old because he did so well.) I would love this opportunity to fall into place, but I'm not stressing if it doesn't.

I think I'm going to try to have the gestational diabetes test tomorrow morning. I was supposed to have it last week before my MW apt, and I didn't do it. I am freaked out about the needle. I know, I'm a wuss. But I've always been anxious about that. I'm really trying to talk myself into just going and getting it over with. Just do it already!

Marie yep was warmer today. IDK whats up with our office other then people upfront turning it so its colder. Drives me nuts. Thats great about him seeing your lil one regularly. Its hard going from daily to a few days a week or every other week. But happy parents apart is better then unhappy parents together. My kids do great and this one will to without the daily contact. Although Im getting really tired of listening to my ex's whinning. Try talking to him about the baby or something new I bought and omg whine this whine that. Not my problem. I have a good job and support me and the kids very well and I get crap for child support. So it is on my own. You will be great when you have this lil one to. I cant remember did you decide on a name yet or get a smaller list yet?

I said the other day that my dishwasher broke well I got a call yesterday from a company that was going to send someone out to look at it to see if they can fix it. Well they were to come today between 1 and 3 so I left work at 12:30 so I could be home for them. Had my brothers friend come over to sit for a bit since I had to get Trinity at 130. Came back noone showed up while I was gone and sat here till about 5 after 3 and called the company. Told her they didnt show up and gave her my address. They wrote the number wrong the number they wrote down I think is the church across the street. So noone showed up what I dont understand is why they didnt call. Supposidly are coming friday morning BUT I think Im calling tomorrow and telling them to come the 18th I already have the day off and I dont need to take the day off. I had a friend of mine watch Trinity since I had her with me and then went back to work. Funny thing is I walked by my boss multiple times and he didnt realize I was there till I had been back almost a hour. I laughed. Told him what happened. But on a good note I got a few more files done so thats a plus for me going back.
