Sickness Free!

Finally! A whole day that I barely felt a trace of sickness! I find if I keep gum or something around and I don't get this yucky taste in my mouth that I feel better longer. And a little piece of chocolate goes a long way! I have to start my gestational diabetes diet on Monday (too lazy to do it now), I got diagnosed early this time. So, I'm not sure if the gum and chocolate are a good idea. But besides being exhausted (lots of errands after work today) I have felt great for the first time since I think 6 weeks!

Steph- I had gd with my dd, I'm suppose to be taking my sugars to see how they are doing to see how my body will be doing...I don't have my apt until late June, so I'm going to wait til my meds are done cuz I'm over poking myself with needles and remembering to do all my fert meds.....I'm going to start limiting carbs.....which means milk and cereal (right now I'm digging life cereal) as that made my sugars spike...:(. Are you just doing the low glycemic diet?

Yes, I had to test my glucose at 7 weeks. I failed the one hour by a lot (I think 170 is passing and I was at 190). I begged to not have to take the 3 hour given my history and they agreed. So I start the low carb diet kind of. I have to keep track of my carbs to a certain point. Not sure if that's the same as the low glycemic diet. But yeah, no milk or cereal. Plus no oatmeal (the little packets) which have helped a bit before, especially in keeping me full. I told my nutritionist and nurse that I know the diet, but truthfully right now I am eating anything I can, since it is barely anything on a normal day.

Congrats on not feeling bad!! I have been chewing a lot of gum to try and get rid of the yucky taste also! I have also noticed that when I stay busy I feel better it seems. Sorry about the GD!

I had a mostly sickness free day. It was fantastic. Yesterday I felt super sick until I took a zofran. that's probably what gave me a huge headache later though.

Congrats on being sickness free, and no fun with the GD, but like you said, great that you know so early and can take precautions.

I am slowly starting to feel less sick as well. I remember it getting better from this point with my daughter.
