I do about 2 miles of walking every day (~1 mile twice a day) with our dog.
I used to do about 30 min high cardio on the eliptical trainer 2-3 times a week but my doc said I have to make sure I don't let my heart rate go higher than about 135bpm and seeing as I don't have a heart rate monitor I've stopped doing that.
When I told my husband tonight about our BFP he read me my rights in regards to controlling my blood sugar, overall eating habits, health, and exercise. HaHa..
We already go on frequent mile or so walks but now he has determined that we will do other exercise as well together every morning. I'm not arguing except for the whole "get out of bed" part of it. Haha
When I was pregnant with my son I went up 15lbs. I exercised but ate healthy. I could even look at meat so It was a lot of fruits veggies tofu beans nuts etc. Walking, squatting, yoga, dancing. It all helped
My DH is convinced I'm going to give myself diabetes even before I became pg. He thinks I eat way too much chocolate and not enough fruit. Seems like my taste for chocolate is decreasing tho.
Saw this post and wanted to share an article I read just this morning on the topic:
PREGNANCY MYTH #1: DON’T LET YOUR HEART RATE GET ABOVE 140 BEATS PER MINUTE | ONE FIT MOM
It WAS a recommendation in the 80's, but the ACOG has long since changed their stance and it's far healthier to remain (or even begin to be) active than it is to be a couch potato.
