So I'm a first-timer and this is also the first time I've really wondered if I should be worried about a symptom...
Last night after I climbed into bed I felt these waves of "sensation" in my lower back. I don't want to say "pain" because they weren't sore, just not something I've felt before. I don't know how long it lasted because I fell asleep within 15 min.
Then today at around 3 pm I started getting stabbing pains in my right side, near my hip. Kinda feels like the pains I used to get with my endometriosis around O time but surely that wouldn't happen now that I'm pregnant? I've been getting them every 5-10 min since then (it's now 6pm) The intensity has lessened slightly so that I don't gasp when it happens but I can still feel them and they're uncomfortable. I've had a few on the left side but mostly it's on the right.
Could this all be a form of BH? My next appointment is on Wednesday. At what point should I call the doc? Or go to the ER?
Does your doc have a weekend call nurse? I would try something like that before going to the er. I've never gone into preterm labor, but if they are painful and coming at regular intervals, you may want to think about going in. Chances are everything is ok, but you never know. You could also try just calling the er and speaking with someone. I did that when dd ran a high fever once and the nurse I talked to was very helpful and told me what to do and when to come in. KUP!
Thanks, ladies. They seem to have stopped about an hour ago. If they come back again I'll call the doc's service. Otherwise I'll mention it to him on Wednesday.
I'm horribly uncomfortable tho, Squishy is sitting so insanely low. A couple nights ago she kicked and I felt it all the way down you-know-where, not in my belly like usual. I will also ask him if it's ok that she sits so low down.
Could have been BH. I get them daily....all the time and have with all preg. My entire uterus tightens, not usually painful, but occas. back ache too. You may be having round ligament pain. Hard to tell so definitely discuss with your doc/mw at next appt
