faint line not getting darker?

On Tuesday I got a faint line on a FRER. It was dark enough to show up in a picture. I assumed that by today it would be darker, but it's not. It might even be lighter. It's really really really faint, but it has color, not evap. It came up within the limit by FRER. I also had a clearblue easy that was also faint, but we all know how reliable the blue tests are.

What does this mean? AF was due yesterday (13dpo, I always get AF on 13dpo). There is a possibility it's due today, but judging by my OPKs and CM, I'm fairly certain I o'd on 8/16.

Not sure about FRER necessarily - but I had a recent miscarriage and used dollar store tests to test out my Hcg. The tests were listed to be sensitive to 25 (whatever the units of measure are for this) - So when my levels were down and should have been under 25 - I used one, expecting to get a BFN, but there was a faint line there - much more then I expected. (and a blood test that day showed my levels to be at about 15). The line was not a squinter, and was not much different then the one I got when my levels were at 85

So I have learnt a lot about levels and lines through my experience.

I am not sure if the level of sensitivity may slightly vary between tests, but I would test again in a couple of days....maybe your first line you caught at a low level (say 15) and even a doubled # would only be at 30 today.....

I agree with PP that maybe it just picked it up when the hcg was really low. Even with doubling time it could still be low. When I took a FRER my level was maybe...45 or so and it was a pretty obvious clear line then. It was lighter than the control but not extremely so. However, it only got slightly darker. I took them for a few days just to watch the line get darker and it got as darker or a little darker than the control at one point and never got darker than that. I'm not sure if the darkness of the lines really matters that much when it comes down to it. If you're still really early than it might just be light because it's early. I don't think mine darkened much before until after I had missed AF. I also took a digi just to be sure since they're less sensitive and it came up right away.

I also noticed with FRER that the dye can vary a lot between two tests. It can really vary between two boxes too but I had one test with thicker lines that were easier to see and then another one with super thin lines. So there is a lot of variation there as well. Good luck to you. This happened to me last month, then AF came. I hope yours has a better outcome, though!

That's pretty promising! I would just give a couple of days and then try again.

I think that line looks good it's def not an evap. I would just test again to see if it gets darker it could have just been an off test like Leah said.

It is so hard to compare tests over such a short period of time due to all the factors that can influence those tests. I would wait another couple of days to test again or maybe even contact your doctor for a blood test. Good luck!!

I am swearing off FRERs. Another super faint line. I wasted $30 this month. Dollar Store is a stark white BFN. AF is 2 days late (due Wednesday).
