    Default Help for a friend...

Posting this for a friend. Back story: Husband had a vasectomy, he went in for the first shooters test but not the 2nd. She tested because (her periods are irregular) she had dark brown spotting on Friday and used a tampon, after 8 hours there was barely anything on it and nothing since. We all know blue dyes suck but it's what she had.. she will test again in the morning with the other blue dye she had then if that is inconclusive will buy a FRER. What are the chances this is a true positive?

I had a very convincing blue dye false positive last month...so I would never trust a blue dye positive unless it was blazing positive.

I think the general rule with blue dye is that if the line is as thick (not necessary as dark) as the control line then it is likely to be a positive. I could be wrong though...

In this case it's very difficult to see the thickness of the line...I hope she gets the result she wants though

I would not judge anything by that test. I thought I saw something at first, and now I don't... tell her to test again without blue dye!

I can see the line on it but agree that it's still not conclusive. I say test again also!

I see something, but since it's a blue dye test, something doesn't mean anything. She may as well have peed on a piece of paper for all the stock I put into those tests! Good luck to her.

I've had a blue dye look like that and I wasn't pregnant, so I wouldn't go by that at all.

ETA: I've had plenty of periods where I start spotting brown, and it can be a couple days later before I really start it or get anything else. So that can be normal too.
