Ok...wth!?!?!... final update- progression pic

Here's my final update... as you can see, Friday evening/early Sat morning was DEFINITELY ovulation time! We had sex Friday night prob around 9, so I guess we'll see! So hard to want to be pregnant but not want to be pregnant. At least I told DH on Saturday, "I really regret doing that last night. I'm sorry!" And he said not to worry about it. It's him that'll get screwed in the whole thing, so, if he's ok, then I'm ok. And we'll see what the hpts have to say in two weeks time! You know what...from looking at these...I think I mixed up two of the tests when I went to set them down to photograph them- I fumbled them- I think the one labeled Friday 7:30 and the one labeled Saturday pm got switched!

OK...I'm guessing this really IS looking positive...IRL, that first line is definitely darker than the second! But QUESTION- if I were to catch this egg- obviously it's been more than a month since my LMP, so I'd be due.... ???? The reason I ask, is that whether or not we DTD tonight depends on when I might be due. We need June at least! TIA!

Does this look like it's headed for a positive????

The story... I have only had one pp period, from July 7-10. My period this month was due on the 6th, and it still hasn't showed. I have taken numerous HPTs and they have all been snow white.

So I have been figuring that it's just my cycle isn't regular yet (which I assume is normal), and I just have to wait it out... well, then today I noticed what seemed like a whole lot of EWCM! So I decided to POAS... and got this! And it came up this dark pretty quickly. I know it's not fully positive- but does it look like it's headed that way? Could it be that I didn't ovulate yet...and am only doing so now? (No, I don't have a chart for you to look at, I don't temp- we conceived DD on the first try just tracking periods and CM.)

So, what do you think???? I'm in Laos, so this was a morning pee- like 10am (not FMU). I'll test again this afternoon!

TIA!
Mara

It's hard to say, could be headed for a positive, or a surge may have just happened...altho if you have EWCM, more like you are headed for a positive.

It's totally possible that you didn't ovulate last time, esp as your July period seems so short!! Were your periods before pg normally this short?

Might I also suggest an hpt....just to make sure you're not pg? I think OPKs will sometimes go positive if you are pg.

Yeah, OPKs can pick up pregnancy hormone because they two hormones are so similar. I'd pick up an HPT and see what that says.

I have taken 5 HTPs already this cycle! (Yes, I'm an addict!) I started with what would have been like 8 or 9 DPO and then have tested every 2 days since then- the last test having been taken on Wednesday (two days ago) which was 4 days after my period was due. All have been SNOW WHITE. I'll test again with the OPK this afternoon and see what I see. Because I'm in Laos, I don't know the availability of tests yet- I only have like 10 hpts left (ONLY!), so I would rather not waste them for now... They are ICs, but surely, if I were pregnant, it would have picked up at CD 35 with ovulation having happened at CD 14-17??? Also, we weren't even trying this month- in fact, we purposely avoided having sex that week, because we didn't want to conceive that early. Anyway... I guess I'll just post the next pick this afternoon too!

Try and take another OPK today and see what it looks like. 10 am seems early for picking up a surge? When I did OPKs (like addicted to them, not just casual use Smile ) I would do them starting at 10, then again nearly every time I peed until evening.

I thought you were supposed to do like twice a day. I've never used them before- I'll use them regularly now if I have a need.

I am guessing you are about to O. It can be very frustrating with super long cycles (coming from someone who had a 65 day cycle once!) I highly recommend temping when you start TTC just so you know when you can give DH a break LOL

I've had a super regular period for the last 6 years or so... this is just post partum stuff for me- I hope! If these issues continue, then I might consider temping, but, for now, I'm going to assume that my 30-31 day cycle will be back soon, if I don't get pregnant this month or next. It doesn't at this point surprise me though, when it's been 2 years since I had a cycle, that it would take a couple cycles to regulate again. Like I said, we didn't have any problem conceiving before- and I know that doesn't mean anything- but I'm going to go forward assuming the best, not the worst, for now! Smile

The last pic looks positive but I don't know that you'd be due in June yet. Just for reference my first daughter was due June 7th and we only BD on September 14 and 15. - think you might be just a tad bit early for June. Hang in there!!

Whoops... the deed is done! You know how it is when the baby is asleep, no one else is home, you actually have a bed to DTD in... I couldn't wait... we did it! Ha ha! What are the chances anyway???? I guess we'll see!!!

I agree with Liz about the timing. If you want June you'll have to wait another month.

That OPK looks positive to me. It's a bit tough with your cycles not being regular yet though.

I would do as pp suggested and pee on some more if you can.

GL sweets! I hope you get what you want when you want it!!!

You're right! The reason we want June is because DH is a teacher, and we want him done, or only like 1 or 2 weeks left in the school year...but, if it's early May, we're screwed either way. We'll just see what's in store, and believe that whatever happens is for the highest good. :aak:

Girl, I just read your post on our chat thread - I expect to see some pretty lines in a couple of weeks - you just talked yourself into a + Smile

You know I'll be stalkin' ya (and probably bugging you to pee on stuff too).

Hugs your way (and a bit of baby dust too)

Just subtract three months from the month you are in and that would be your due date. So if your hpt is positive on August 1st, your due date would be May 1st ish.

You'd think, since I've done this before, that I would know...but see, I guess that is what I was thinking...I probably wouldn't get a +hpt until like almost the end of August...so then 3 mos would be end of May, right???

No, because you have to go by your LMP. Technically, you are pregnant for 10 months - not 9 because they count from your LMP. So if you get your HPT at the end of August, you are already a month pregnant which would put your due date at the beginning of May.

ETA: Sorry, I totally explained my first post wrong. I blame it on the two little ones in my siggy Smile It should be if your LMP was August 1st, your due date would be May 1st - not your positive HPT.

Right, gotcha... so I would really need a dating ultrasound, since my LMP was July 7. Anyway, we'll just have to see! Not counting any chickens yet!

Mara, you could just google conception due date calendar, there are tons on line. They don't go by LMP, but by conception date.

If you are using OPK's and having timed intercourse/monitoring your fertility and tracking it on line you probably would have a pretty good idea of when you conceive without needing a dating ultrasound! Good luck!

Oh goodness...I just took another test at about 1am and the test line was so dark the control line was light. I have a pic on my iPod here, but I can't get flickr to load on here, so I'll have to deal with it in the morning.
I am a little bit kicking myself for my impulsivity because we had a plan and it was a good plan and maybe I just ruined it cause I get too excited. These are going to be some looooooooong two weeks!!!!!

I bet you're ovulating tomorrow with those positive OPKs! That means your due date will be May 5, 2012 if you got lucky. Biggrin I used my favorite calculator (http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/eddc.htm). I always plug in ovulation dates because my LMP means nothing since my cycles are wacky and it sounds like you've got a wacky one going.

No way, woman! If we didn't get pregnant yesterday, then THANK GOD, and we'll do it for real next month! Smile Seriously, having a May baby would make things super hard for us with the traveling and time off for DH, etc (he doesn't get any paid time off in his first year at this school). I just got so excited that I peed on something and it turned a pretty color that we totally jumped the gun... should not have done that last night! But, I do really really hope that I'll have a period in two weeks, and a month from now we can conceive for an early June baby which would REALLY be PERFECT!

That last test was for sure a +! Is it bad of me that I am still hoping you caught that egg even though it isn't the best time? lol It is just way too hard to see a pos test and then hope that you are NOT pregnant! It goes against everything! lol

I know! I feel all screwy on the inside today (like in my head) because I keep thinking how perfect it would just all work out- and easy- if I was due in June- but of course I want to be pregnant now! But honestly, I think my DH like unbonded a little when he was gone from us for 6 weeks- from Beni's 2nd-8th week....and I would so like for that not to happen with the next baby. If we have the baby in June, we wouldn't have to be apart after the baby was born. So, that would REALLY be the best.

OMG, I am totally in that same situation. I really want to be preggo, but DH is a teacher and is out of school at the end of May, so early June baby would be perfect, but we have been getting a little careless at BD time and might end up with a May, but I haven't totally figured out my cycles yet, FF could be a week off for all I know, but who knows...if it's meant to be then it's meant to be.

Plus, it doesnt help that I am reading all of these tips and advice to get preggo, I just want to see if they work!!! hehehe, lol.

Anyways, good luck to both of us and hoping we each get AF at the end of this month (but really hoping to be preggo in my head at the same time....aaaahhhh)

Bolded- we had that exact same situation!
My husband had to start a new out of the country job and so baby and I had to wait for her passport. I always felt like in that time, my baby and I got to really bond, more than normal baby & mom bonding, because it was just us. no family or friends to help, just me trying to figure out how to be a mom and her trying to figure out being a baby on the outside world. Lol

With you *if* this happens he will be around, just not at home during the day?

No, we'd be on separate continents again for a while. Even if I'm due in June, Beni and I will probably go back to the States earlier so that I don't have to fly way too huge pregnant in economy with a toddler on a long haul international flight by myself. So Beni and her dad would be apart for a while... and then if I was due in May, DH would come for the birth, and probably have to come back to Laos to finish the school year, and then come back again. He wouldn't be gone as long, because with DD he left on May 8, and he might not go back that soon this time...but, in any case, he'd probably still be gone 3-4 weeks.

It was really tough because when he left when she was 2 weeks old, she was this silent little lump that just ate, slept and pooped. When he came back when she was 8 weeks, she was big and much more active and had learned to properly cry... and although she and I were seriously bonded, I think he was like, "What did you do to my kid???" Even though he's a teacher, he hasn't spent that much time around babies, so, it was not good that he missed how things progressed...

Ahh ok I thought he has going somewhere and you guys were staying. Just because I am all confused now, why would you go back to USA?

How are things looking? Has it been 2 wks yet? Lol

I would go back to the States to birth, because the medical care here in Laos is not that good. I would like a home birth in the States- safe, and near quality medical care if I need it!

And also, yeah... got my BFP this morning!
