OPK Question

Hi there, I had a question and was hoping someone could help.

I am on cycle day 21 of a 31 day cycle, and based on past 4 cycles using OPKs, I usually ovulate on CD 20/21.

So the weird thing is that this cycle I have gotten 2 positive OPKs, and 1 very close to positive OPK, and rest just boring little lines on VERY different cycle days. The first positive was on CD 14 (which was the most positive I have ever gotten), then on CD19, I got another positive, and then on CD20 a close to positive. And because I am a POAS addict, I took a cheapie pg test and of course it was negative LOL. The tests I have say to use them in the late afternoon so I always test at around 3pm, making sure I haven’t peed since at least 11am.

What does 2 positive OPKs a week apart mean? Is it normal? Anyone else had it happen? A friend mentioned that maybe I ovulated twice… once in each tube, but I only have one tube. Please help! Biggrin

Thank you!

Sometimes your body "gears up" to O and for some reason it doesn't (stress, hormones, illness, etc). That is why you can never confirm O on just OPK alone, if you really want to know what you are doing try temping too and that will give you a pinpoint on your O date. I would keep opk testing (and BDing!) until all other signs show O too (mainly CM if you track that). I am a late ovulator too and the cycle I got pg I didn't ovulate until CD25!

I agree - OPK's alone do not O make! If this cycle isn't it for you start temping and tracking your cm. Those all put together really can help you pinpoint your O date.

A lot of women here also use fertility friend to help them track.

How long have you been TTC? Check out our TTC boards - the women on there have awesome advice and experience to share too.

GL - I hope you caught that eggie this month!

Thanks guys.

This is only my fourth cycle trying. I already bought the BBT and plan to start temping on the next cycle. I am on medicine for my thyroid and want to try everything possible to make sure things are working as they are supposed to.
