POAS Party!!!! - 11/30/2012

TGIF, amiright?!?

Happy Friday everybody! It's time for our weekly POAS party!!!!

:band:
:party::clinkingbeer::bumshakin::pinkelephant::occasion18::party:

So, any one testing today? Susan, I hope you come and tell us all about your appt! Anyone have any fun plans over the weekend?

I am going to be busy. T and I are helping my parents decorate for Xmas tomorrow, and we also need to get our Solstice decorations up. Then on Sunday we are going Chanukah shopping with my SIL (yes, our family celebrates all 3 in some form...;)) and then I'm taking T and a friend to JumpStreet, or maybe T and I will go see Rise of the Guardians. I'm waiting to hear back from T's friend's mom if he will be able to make it to JumpStreet.

I think I'll do a few OPK's today. I took a break from obssessing for a few days, Wed I had what I thought was almost pos OPK's (2) but when they dried, it didn't even look close. Yesterday, 4pm, it was even lighter. CM has been increasing since Wed, but not abundant. I may have missed the surge, or haven't surged yet. I'm not being consistent with what time I am testing. Will def share my tests later. Smile

Congrats Pam! What is your EDD? Can I add you to the Hall of Fame?

Janelle, do you know what CD you are on?

I'm currently on CD 743. Wink My last AF was November 2010, the cycle I fell pregnant with Evie. She turned 15 months yesterday and I have yet to have AF return.

Pam - Done

Janelle - LOL!!!! I thought that I remembered something like that you were on really long cycles, but I wasn't picturing 743 day cycles. LMAO!!!!

Lol My cycles averaged 30 days before Evie. I just haven't had it back since her. I have been emotionally and symptom cycling.. but no clue when to expect it, cause the last three months I've had days where I was REALLY sure I either ovulated or was pregnant and then nothing happens to prove either one. I keep telling DH.. if no AF in two weeks, then I didn't ovulate like I think I *may* have.. and then no AF.

I am just going crazy, so I want to know when to expect AF to return. DH had the Big-V, so I'm testing for informational purposes only. I want to have my insanity be predictable (or excusable) again.

I do not really understand how OPK's work. Why would it mean nothing?

Well, we have natural ups and downs to our LH levels, and any given time or day can be different. Unless the test line is darker than the control line, then there isn't an LH surge detected. It doesn't matter how light the test line is, if it's not as dark or darker than the control line, then it means nothing. Here's a link to Peeonastick.com's demonstration of LH levels during breastfeeding. It's a fairly old page (2005) but it gives the best pictorial example I've found yet.

POAS ~ OPK Odyssey

Also on there is the fact that your body CAN surge without actually ovulating.. so without temping and CM monitoring, what I am doing is only for fun. I don't temp (too many sleepless nights) and CM (for me) is not chartable. So unless I get a clear positive and then AF shows within 14 days, I can't prove anything. Lol

But the fact that I was dx with Estrogen Depletion a few months back, and so was the peeonastick lady, and she ovulated when her doc said it was impossible.... gives me hope.

I see. How stressful. Thankfully my body has always given me clear signs and I can easily tell when I am ovulating without all of the charting and tests.

Incidentally, my next test (sometime between 9 and 10pm) was barely visible. So I'm gonna say no surge happened, therefore proving that negative OPKs are negative OPKs, no matter how "almost positive" they are.

Janelle - How frustrating! I didn't get AF back for about 6 months after my son was born, and that was stressful enough. Have you been taking an OPK every day for months?

So are you hoping to get a visit from your aunt soon, or are you happy that she's staying away? I was always stressed because I was terrified of getting pregnant again (T was a super hard baby, so the idea of having another right away was enough to break me out in hives) but since your DH had a V and you also might welcome another baby anyway, are you stressed about it, or glad she's stayed away?

Yes.

Lol

I want normalcy again. I want her back cause at this point.... I wonder if she will EVER come back and I'm not ready for menopause even IF we are done having babies. I've had SO many medical issues over the last few years that I need to know my body is (for the most part) normal for my age.

I'd welcome another pregnancy, and I AM going crazy without AF to prove I am not.. but honestly, the chances are so slim that I try not to dwell on it.
