Default Torn between POAS and Waiting for Period/Missed Period

    Hey ladies!
My hubby and I have not been ttc, I vigorously keep track of my cycle, and we usually use protection. However, sometimes, we decide to take a "chance".

Here's the deal: My last cycle started November 10th, and lasted for my normal 5-6 days and was pretty mild flow through most. My hubs and I dtd very early morning November 25th (around 1am) and decided to "chance" it.
My CM had been thin, clear, and very slick that day and 2-3 days before. When I checked my cycle tracker, I realized that I more than likely had been ovulating right around that time.

My next cycle should start on Friday December 7.

I am torn between testing early (I fear the BFN!) and waiting to see what my body does.

I know it's not an absolute given that that night could have result in a BFP, but I know it's also a likelihood.

Even though we're not trying, I really want a baby. Our only child just turned 4 and he's growing up soooo fast! I've always said I want 2 kids, and I don't want a huge age gap between kids, so I'd definitely be happy with a BFP.
I dread testing early and getting a BFN, feeling like I wasted a EPT, but I also hate waiting just for my period to start and deal with a depressing day.

Please, advice and encouragement is greatly appreciated!!!!

It's only 2 more days away... I'd try and wait it out. Do you have any symptoms? Good luck!! I hope you get the result you are looking for!!

My hubby would be happy. I know he wouldn't chance it if he absolutely didn't want another. He also LOVED it when I was pregnant with our son.

I have been feeling gassy, a little crampy, emotional and irritable, very exhausted the past few days (the other night I could have easily gone to bed at 7:30), and I've been a little nauseous. Yesterday, my son and I went for a walk, and before we left I popped a Werther's caramel in my mouth. About 10 minutes later I felt sooo sick to my stomach, which was just odd to me.

I hate that early pregnancy symptoms and pms are so similar!

I didn't deal with this the first time around. I wasn't tracking my cycle then, and I wasn't even thinking about having a baby. I didn't even realize my cycle was late until my husband told me he had a really vivid dream that I was pregnant.
Since having my son, I've been so much more aware of my body and my cycle. Any time that I think there's a chance I could have been ovulating during dtd, I get excessively aware of my body. It's rather stressful, lol!

I'm sorry I'm rambling! I don't want to talk to friends and family about it. I've been there, done that just to end up with a BFN and the start of my cycle.

Perhaps with all those symptoms it's worth doing a test now. You are close enough to when af is due that you should get a BFP if you are pregnant! I know what it's like to stress over every single symptom. Sometimes that can be worse than waiting it out. All the best!!

If you think that a BFN will really disappoint you, then maybe it is worth it to wait it out until Friday. Only two more days to go. Having said that, I would totally be testing first thing tomorrow morning, because I have zero will power. LOL! Good luck! I hope that you get the answer you are hoping for.

I would test, at least with a dollar store cheapie, then not a big deal to waste it if it turns out BFN. Did you test? If not AF is due tomorrow right so if you are going to wait it out then I would just tell myself I'm not pregnant and expect AF that way it's not such a disappointment if she shows. But this is also why I say test b/c I can't truly believe myself and would still be hoping for no AF...if I go ahead and test it's easier to expect a BFN and then wait patiently for AF than to wonder about it until she shows. But this is such a personal reaction, only you can know which is easier for you to handle. Good luck!

Oh and I can't help but ask...are you and DH considering trying for one more? Sounds like that is what you want and he isn't too opposed to it...or at least JLIH?

I would at least take a cheapie test, but I am a major POAS pusher

    Good Luck!!

I still haven't tested yet. What's funny is that I'm hoping for no AF, but am being a whole lot more patient and calm about this than I have been in the past.

Part of me thinks I'm going to get what I want, but at the same time I don't want to believe it and end up disappointed.
I think I'm going to wait until Sunday to test. My cycle is usually very regular, but has randomly lengthened. For example, it will be regular at 27 days and then one month will go to 28, next month 29, and then 30. Then it has been as short as 21 days, but that was a few years ago that it was that short.

I know without a doubt that I was ovulating and on one of my most fertile days when hubby and I dtd, so I know it's a possibility that I could be preggers. I was telling my hubby last night that I feel crampy, emotional, and exhausted - all which are typical pms symptoms for me, but I don't feel the normal "inner turmoil" going on that I normally do.

I don't know, maybe I'll test later today just for the heck of it. My AF usually comes early afternoon, so we'll see . . .

Thanks for all the input, ladies!
