:banghead: so we are still working on sleep training, new bed is coming next week. she still wont get out of bed? wth? she is the only child that i've ever known that won't get out of bed when she wakes up, she never has and even with the door and gate wide open, with being in her own room since april (when she moved to toddler bed) she just lays there and calls for us, it's not like we go in and pick her up, since the toddler bed we go in and say good (insert time) lets go play. i KNOW that if she'd get the hint to get out of bed she'd have this, she's soo devastated each time she pee's the bed and i have to remind her that i'm not mad, it's okay accidents happen, we are all learning new things, the poor thing is just frustrated with herself and doesn't get it, get out of bed little one! every other kid i've ever known can't wait to get out of bed and play, rattle their gate, what-have-you. *sigh* on a good note, she can go all day without accidents as long as we catch her the second she stirs (mid nap) and then put her back to bed, she goes in public great and showing great skill with holding it till the next stop! even over night seems to be good right up until she's almost awake. tried wet sensation, tried the panties under pull ups, trying nothing right now (panties and pee the bed keep reminding) if i've learned anything from you ladies it's that nothing happens overnight and i need to be patient! just helps to vent it out sometimes!
so after some careful observation, we are going back to pull ups for nap i feel so horrible back sliding on her like this. but she was feeling soo horribly guilty when she pee'd the bed (she cried) and after watching, she's still peeing just before she wakes up so it's not even that she can help it. SO to make it different, we have 'princess panties' huggies night time pull ups which are new and she seems to really like, she gets to wear panties over top. she's got her new bed (which she loves!) and after thinking about it i dont feel that bad in general about the decision to remain sleep covered. she's doing great at daytime training, still doing the 3 steps forward 1 step back (forward progress is great!) and it seems that her body just isn't ready yet but i know it's getting there, smaller and smaller messes in the pull ups before waking. i want to monitor this as well as take this time to work on 'get out of bed'! and re-address the issue in a bit when the bladder shows more signs of holding through sleep.
on another note, we started putting cheap toilet paper on the floor to wipe out the potty pot. well the other day i walked into the bathroom and she'd gone pee by herself and was trying so hard to wipe by herself! she figured out that you unroll the paper… but not getting the rip it off part! she had this confused look on her face that she just couldn't get it to let go!
Sorry to hear about the Pullup. Maybe she just needs some time for her bladder to catch up with her body.
Juliet's got the tp down pat. Actually, she's got it too well and loves to tear a roll apart.
