Holy milking Katie lol! That's awesome! And here I was all proud of my lowly 30oz in my freezer lol! I'm just so happy that pumping and nursing is working out with this baby because it sure didn't with my other babies. By this time all of my other kids were on formula. Trystan hasn't had a drop of anything but mommy juice!

You went back to work really early though - I have had a whole lot longer to make a stash! And I'm part dairy cow. MOOOOOOO

AWESOME job on the BF'ing though - I'm glad it's working out for you!

Great work ladies! I'm so impressed, especially with all of you who have had to get back to work.

My Liam had slowed down (thankfully) to every 3 hours over the Christmas holidays. He's back up to every 2.5 hours now HOWEVER he is also napping a tonne and so he will go 4.5 hours when he's having a good sleep. He's still taking 1BB at a time, except at his last feed of the night he will fuss around so I'll give him both. Daytime he nurses anywhere from just 10 minutes to an hour - burping him is still a problem, or lack of it & the ensuing constant spitup. Where the heck is that insta-burp button?!? At night he's still sleeping really well, up anywhere from 4 to 5:30 and back to sleep till 7-8. Yesterday he slept through to 6:30!!! Our day was a bit messed up after that, so I would really prefer if he just woke earlier & went back to sleep, lol. I haven't pumped in ages, I have a wee stash in the freezer & haven't tried any of it (with DD I guess I had a lipase issue which made my thawed milk smell funny/metallic plus she wouldn't take a bottle). Guess I should try out the thawed stuff to see if it goes down well, and if so freeze some more.

You know, I've read that it's OK for your thawed BM to have a metallic smell... it has something to do with the breakdown of the consistancy of the milk... but that it's perfectly OK for baby.

So Trystan will be eight weeks old on Tuesday and I'm so excited that BF has been going as well as it has! I returned the electric pump that I had rented after just two weeks. Between the fenugreek and finally figuring out that I should pump as soon as I feel a let down (I just can't let down while I'm manually pumping, no matter how hard I try... unless T is drinking on one side and I'm pumping on the other) to get the most milk expressed... so basically whenever I feel that tingle I literally drop everything I'm doing to run to the restroom and pump lol! I've been expressing enough to give him two bottles for while I'm at work and I also have six 3oz bags of BM frozen. I couldn't be happier about the fact that not only is my little man getting the best nutrition, but I'm saving hundreds of dollars by not having to buy formula this time around!

Krystal - ya know with DS1 I originally decided to give BF'ing a shot b/c it was free. I was a formula fed baby, DH was, all our family/friends use(d) formula, I had nothing against it at all but I couldn't bring myself to spend so much money on something when my body made something better for free. So I tried....and it worked out well for me....and I've never bought a single can of formula. I still have nothing at all against formula, I think I came out just fine having only been fed it. But that was really my initial driving force to trying to BF - I'm cheap! Then I realized I'm also lazy and except for some of the hassle of leaking, having to pump if out away from Rory etc I like to ease of BF'ing. Milk is always ready and no clean up required.

It's so funny because I was afraid that bf wouldn't work out again this time around, so I made sure to enroll in all of the formulas websites to ensure that I would get plenty of coupons, and I have about fifteen cans of free formula that has beset to me over these past few months! I'm so glad that I haven't had to touch a drop of it, and each month that goes by I will be donating it to local food banks for other moms.

I feel proud of my self, yesterday at dravens karate class I nursed, I have never had a problem nursing in public but at his class you sit on benches and you are surrounded by people you don't know. So it's kinda of awkward sitting next to all of these strangers so close and nursing, but once I did it I really didn't care! So, YAY ME! Lol I also always thought that the other parents would give me looks just because the seating in so close but no one really cared. I'm glad i got that out of the way and I now know no one cares if I nurse or not. Lol

I'm starting to get the hang of breastfeeding in public again, you know the whole blanket over the shoulder while holding him and all that fuss. And my boys are so used to it they say "your going to give him booby?" lol they are so cute.

I've had to get comfortable with nursing in public too this time. Today it was in a dressing room full of moms and dads as we waited for our 4 year olds to finish dance class.
I've breastfed at an NHL game and an NBA game! Super fun
