We've decided to introduce a bottle of pumped milk once a day for a variety of reasons (my yoga class, DH bonding, occasional drink, etc). I was having difficulty pumping enough so we got some formula from the hospital to add to it for a bottle. She initially hated the bottle and refused it, then she'd take a little once we started mixing it but not enough for a full feeding (an once or 2 tops). We finally found a bottle/nipple she'll take but she still won't take straight BM. 50/50 mix of BM and Alimentium is the most she'll take. My plan had been to move toward bottles of pumped milk around 6 months with continued evening and night BFing. I won't be able to do that if she won't take the BM in a bottle.
I warm it up in hot water, regardless of if it's BM or formula. She definitely likes her milk warm lol I just don't get why she won't take the pumped milk. Should I try giving it to her in the bottle? Up till now it's always been DH giving her the bottle with me as far away as possible. Our LC had suggested this when we first started introducing the bottle but maybe if it's Mommy's milk given by Mommy?
have you tried increasing the BM portion just a bit? So instead of 50/50 use 50/60?
